Loved the video @ProfNCognito! Can't wait for the next video man! I'll admit that Pineapple on Pizza is Good, but people usually think that it's a Hawaiian Pizza when it's not. It was actually the Australians who came up with Pineapple on Pizza. Here's some more "Food for thought", several months ago, I was looking up Different Submarines and one of the ones that came up was called a "SUBmarine". It was literally a Submarine made into a Sub Sandwich or Vice versa. Definitely go check that out since you can spawn it in the Work bench.
Also, Here are the Specs for the Landing Craft Infantry (Large). About 923 of these Guys were Built starting in 1943, serving in both Pacific and European Theaters including those that were converted into Heavily Armed Beach Support Ships. The LCI(L) would Supplement the Smaller LCA's and LCVP's as a way to get many Troops Ashore before a Dock could be Captured or Built. As Such, they were the Largest Beachable Infantry Landing Craft (The Larger Landing Ship Infantry (LSI) was a Transporter for men and small craft such as the British LCA) in the Allied Inventory. Below the Specs will be Further Detail into the Various Models like the Landing Craft Support (Large).
Landing Craft Infantry (Large) (LCI(L)):
• Displacement: 234 Long Tons (257.868 Short Tons) Standard, 389 Long Tons (428.678 Short Tons) Full.
• Length: 158 ft. 6 in. (48.769 meters or 195.076 Blocks).
• Beam: 23 ft. 3 in. (7.153 meters or 28.615 Blocks).
• Draft: 5 ft. 4 in. (1.641 meters or 6.564 Blocks), 5 ft. 11 in. (1.820 meters or 7.282 Blocks) Aft.
• Propulsion: 2 Banks Detroit diesel 6051 Quad-71, 2 Shafts (4 Engines per Shaft), 1,600 bhp (bhp meaning .
• Speed: 16 Knots (18.4 mph).
• Range: 500 Nautical Miles (575 Miles or 934.153 km) at 15 Knots (17.25 mph). 4,000 Nautical Miles (4,600 miles or 7,473.230 km) at 12 Knots (13.8 mph) with Extra Fuel in place of Troops and Cargo.
• Troops: 180, Later 210.
• Complement: 3 Officers and 21 Enlisted.
• Armament: 4 Oerlikon 20 millimeter L/70 Anti-Aircraft Guns (1 Forward, 1 Centerline and 2 Aft).
• Armor: 2 in. Plastic Armor Splinter Protection for Gunners and Pilot House.
Types:
• a.) Square Conning Tower, Side Ramps (Original Style, seen on the LCI(L)-1-349 class).
• b.) Round Conn, Side Ramps.
• c.) Round Conn, Bow Ramp.
Variants:
• LCI(FF): Flotilla Flagship, Equipped to carry the Flotilla Commander and his Staff. 49 were converted but after their Combat Debut at Okinawa they were judged as too cramped and Slow for this role. Landing Ship Mediums were then recommended for conversion, but this never happened.
• LCI(G): Gunboat, Two or Sometimes Three 40 millimeter L/60 Anti-Aircraft Guns, 6 .50 Caliber Machine Guns, and 10 Mk.7 Rocket Launchers were Added to existing Armament to provide Close-in Fire Support for the Landings. This Variant was used as the Basis for the LCS(L) class of Landing Craft Support ships. Same hull was used and More Armament was added, but the Troop Carrying Capabilities was removed.
• LCI(M): Mortar, 3 4.2-inch Mortars equipped for Naval Surface Fire Support.
• LCI(R): Rockets, a platform for 6 5 in. Rocket Launchers. The Platform was rather unsophisticated as the Rocket Launchers were fixed to the deck, and so the Ship had to be maneuvered to aim them. When Fired the crew had to take shelter below decks to escape the blast of the Rocket Engines.
Landing Craft Support (Large) (LCS(L) Mk. 3/LSSL:
• Same LCI Hull, but modified to add Gunfire Support Equipment and Accommodation. Armed with a Single 3"/50 Caliber Gun and/or 2 Twin 40 millimeter L/60 Anti-Aircraft Guns and Numerous 20 millimeter L/70 Anti-Aircraft Guns. These were very Prevalent in most Major Pacific Theater Invasions beginning in Late 1944. Reclassified as Landing Ship Support Large (LSSL) in February 1949. 130 of these were built.
As I mentioned in the last video, there are a few of these Guys that are preserved. LCI(L)-713 in Portland, Oregon, LCI(L)-1091 still undergoing Restoration at Eureka, California and LCS(L)-102 in Vallejo, California. If you're ever by those areas, you'll be able to actually see what they look like.
Hope you like the Idea man, I spent about two hours typing this up! These ships may be a bit slow but they should provide plenty of Firepower to help support a Coastal Capture Point Taking with the Weapons DLC or even Defend against an AI Counterattack.
