Years later but what a find , beyond fantastic , bravo
Philippe Saisse , superbe pianiste , de Marseille je crois ? Bravo !
I saw a video of Herbie bursting into laughter after someone asked him how he composed this tune. It was originally written for a shampoo commercial. I love it anyway.
What a brilliant drummer
a good drummer makes a good band !
Living in an era when you can see close up from an uploaded video the emotions of a player as he/she is creating something so beautiful - what a joy for us out here. producers try to stage a background of color, props, special effects, lights, but nothing compares to squeezed eyes, a rocking head, closed eyes - (as he/she feels, yeah this is grooving, we're communicating and transmitting)
Ouais !! voilà pourquoi j'aime le jazz ! les musiciens ont un plaisir communicatif à délivrer cette très belle pièce. Bravo !!
What a brillant drummer
Wonderful music thank you for proving that jazz is alive and kicking :)
I'd leave the same comment on all these videos if I could.
Great players every one, and getting to see them start with nothing, and without exception turn out these great versions of these tunes is really outstanding. I am addicted.
Love this tune and these guys do a fabulous job.
This rendition is just genius🔥🔥! You have to understand music to understant this piece! Well done by all! ✔💯
love this version of maiden voyage it really does have a deep soul.
The sense of team play is truly great to see and its so cool to see the musicians enjoying themselves making music!
this is phillip cess"s fan man .

The studio jams are great! Thank you! Can't believe I hadn't come across them before.
Maravilloso Frank Briggs.
You all jam so nice !!! Thank you for the great treat!!!
Jimmy playing through a old Peavy Bass Amp. But still, a god like tone. Bravo.
Yessiree, Jimmy is one of my bass gods as well! One of the single biggest influences on my playing.
I actually gigged with a Peavey keyboard amp long ago that looked awfully like that one and it was fantastic! Full range with a 15" bass and small tweeter, not too heavy but sounded very warm and could handle most gigs volume-wise, and super reliable!

Philippe Saisse, c'est, entre autres, l'homme derrière l'album Nougayork de Nougaro...

He had an idea and was trying to explain the sounds he was thinking of.
Great players doing what they so...what's happening Frank.
Dean quotes "Witch Hunt" at 3:10 !
Yes. That's what it was: he had an idea.

Funny stuff at the begining: chordal players have this way of telling drummers what to do (by singing chat-chat-thuk-thuk, etc.), as it was the easiest thing to do. And then, when the drummer does something special, cool (as Frank does) the once musical directors seem incapable of playing anything original or worthy.
Ricardo Moraes-Pinto Maybe you could show us how to play with more freedom and groovy style. Do it. Post your vid man as we can compare. Hahaha.
Frank Briggs is a king drummer. Nevertheless, as guitar players, bass players, piano players, always do, they keep inflating the balls of the drummer to do this and that, making sounds with their mouths and waving their arms and hands, instead of DOING what is right with their own instruments. I would be paying to see a DRUMMER (unless he is the PAYING leader of the band) doing the same to his bandmates.
