Anybody still watching this in 2025? Same here, I discovered this glitch all those years back. So easy to do and works every time. Till this day Donkey Kong County is still one of my favorite games.
Ah, this brings back good memories of the 90's. My sister and I would always try to get this glitch to work and almost never succeeded until we realized you have to hold left to make it work.
came back to this video, because Nintendo finally added this game to the Nintendo Switch Online SNES games, and I'm now ready to loose all of my lives in the next world lol
NeoArashi Yo! I also found this super useful for SNES online cuz me and my friend suck at this lmaoo, thanks for making the vid tho even if it’s 13 years old!
I figured this out as a kid back in 1994 by accident. Back then there was no internet so I felt pretty good about it and thought it was a top secret only I knew.
@CW555555 what he said, you press left so you try to bounce up the wall, but you aren't getting enough room to do it so you just keep landing on his head.
@@AlexTheSuperNintendoGamer You do realise this video is nearly 2 decades old right? I'm not as active as I used to be on this channel. It'm really active in my other channel though, but that one is unrelated to vidro games hehehe
Even in our retirement homes, the algorithm won't give us peace. Got a reply on my inbox for someone necroing a 21 year old thread of mine. I'm actually impressed that forum still exists and my criminal record on it has been scrubbed clean.
THANK YOU! Like the other comments say just hold back and you can do one round for hours. im holding the back button gettin lives while typing this. Been doing so for about 5 mins. idk where the life cap is but ive been doing this for about 10 mins so if their isnt one im sure ill be able to go the rest of the game at 99 lives. thank you.
That's what I figured. It's just that a lot of glitches have you do a specific series of events to activate them which is why I questioned it. Like you ever heard the of old Missingno glitch pokemon in the old Pokemon R/B days? You had to talk to the man in viridian city who shows you how to catch pokemon and watch the sequence, fly to cinnabar island and then surf un and down the thin patch of land on the east shore of the island get the glitch pokemon, lol! That was what I meant.
@friendlyoreo The only place you can really do it is just before the last shortcut in Barrel Cannon Canyon. In fact they removed it in the later games.
@LuigiFan128 I doubt it since it isn't a glitch in the coding. just a glitch in the level diesign, and since they don;t change level designs to much from Snes to GBA, i bet you can still do it.
"yes it's a glitch, cause you're supposed to gain lives only if you kills enemy!" Does that read in the instruction manual or something? Is not the logic of DKC that you get lives for jumping on a lot of enemies without touching the ground? What this perhaps proves is that if you could jump on these big reptiles a lot of times like that, you could score lives, but you only get to do it in this one level,or whatever. So I'm uncomfortable about calling it a glitch.
@@John-nb6ep don't die? DKC3 isn't exactly hard. Otherwise, Lakeside Limbo, the first level of the game, has one balloon of each color that aren't super well hidden (so 6 lives) but the obvious KONG letters, for another live.
is it just me or is the sound design of the Snes very bland and dull? I grew up with DKC for the Advance sp. I don't want to destroy anyone's childhood here, I just noticed in a direct comparison that the sound and the music are very different. While the sound on the Gameboy is cheerful and versatile, the sound on the SNES is rather dark and one-sided.
I grew up with the GBA version of the DKC games as well and tbh I'm pretty spoiled on the GBA versions. Cause they let you save your progress at anytime.

I've been trying it on the Switch version. Can't get it to work. Does the timing have to be very specific?
Oragnutang Gang I always played this game and never did this. Having never done this on my snes cart, I can’t get it to work on switch.
@@oragnutanggang3921 no just hold left toward the wall, so long as you hold left you get lives

Yes you have to press LEFT!!!
I’m literally gonna turn 23 in 23 days and 0:11 manages to make me wheeze every time lmao. I love this game! 😂
Amazing Video! Keep up the good work, my friend. 🥰

I think I remember reading somewhere it can go all the way up to 255, though the number onscreen caps at 99.
That's what I figured.

dude THANK YOU I didn't know about holding the left button and I kept dying
lol Diddy tbagging and the guy going uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh
@LuigiFan128 It was an european rom. This glitch works on every version. Exept the GBA and GBC ones.
TNT Barrel: $50
Kong Barrel: $25
Donkey Kong's Hospice Bill: $300
Wow, raping a gator with a six-pack for extra lives?: Priceless
Krusha is Laughing so I don’t think it’s rape if he’s enjoying it
yes it's a glitch, cause you're supposed to gain lives only if you kills enemy!
But why did Nintendo show it in the trailer of donkey Kong country Nintendo switch
@Shelshocka The name of the 'blue guy' is Krusha. All of the enemies have names. :)
Might want to note that this can be done in Manic Mincers as well, as the 1-ups are likely more helpful there.
Would you really still need them at that point when you have over 99 from a much earlier point though?
K. Rool's stronger minions are ticklish on their head. Jump on their head long enough and they regugitate invisible life-saving balloons.
Well this game is tough AF and this was helpful
"tough AF"
Me and my friend found a similar glitch on one of the cave levels but i can't remember which one. We were maybe 6 or 7
Você deve esta falando desse aqui não? ruclips.net/video/4Xt2AqoPEGk/видео.html
@rodrigooliveira7051 yes, thank you
@psuroviec if I remember right, you gotta hold the Left button
sporister Ik this is a late comment but that guy COULD'VE put that in the description!! But im glad u posted ur comment took a while until I read urs
Omggg you’re a life saver!!!;) I tried forever hahaha
@friendlyoreo
The only place you can really do it is just before the last shortcut in Barrel Cannon Canyon. In fact they removed it in the later games.
Neat! Do you have to do that stuff in a specific order during the first 30 seconds or so? Or do you just need Diddy?
@Rockwarrior2004 It's a glitch in the fact that you don't actually kill any enemy.
@LuigiFan128
I doubt it since it isn't a glitch in the coding. just a glitch in the level diesign, and since they don;t change level designs to much from Snes to GBA, i bet you can still do it.
I would almost think that that was intentionally programmed like that.
Is there any non-glitch way to get lots of lives? It's hard to accumulate lives considering: 1) Die a lot 2) Bananas aren't that numerous
Oh man this game brings so much memoiressss
this is just like the koopa glitch in super mario bros for the original nintendo
hold select on erase, and press B,A,R,R,A,L. 50 lives. your welcome
Does that work with VC DKC?
on wii? yes.
James Salazar no on Wii U?
@jamesSalazar you are the fucking man.
You the real MVP
It's also possible do it in Manic Mincers.
Keep trying this and can’t get it. Any advice?
@friendlyoreo Ditto. Most of my combo kills were through roll attacks, not jumps.
@NeoArashi Diddy can;t kill krushas anyway.thats what makes this trick work.
It's not a glitch within the coding of the game, so it can be done in any version
Poor Krusha.
Awesome and Funny glitch. I got this game only on the Virtual Console (I sold the SNES version).
I tried it, but I keep failing.
This trick is quite hard, though.
If you did know that already,id doesn't mean everybody knows. Did you know rambi can go onto diddy? i bet you didn't.
@NeoArashi but remember, is only in the snes version, in gba you die in the next second xD
@EpicBacon I don' know. I think I accidently downloaded a french version. But I dind't really care.
Me at zoo
Interesting.
Doesn't work on the GBA version sadly.
@friendlyoreo Yeah, you gotta hop on enemies 8 or more times to start getting extra lives
Death. (Still getting more lives)
No, you just need Diddy. DK kills the krusha...
Wow. I've played that game how many times? And I didn't know you could earn extra lives by combo-jumps. Rather mario-esque.
Thats AWESOME! I'm going to try it right now.
great trick i gets annoying going so far only to run out of lives and start the whole world over. ive lost 50 lives on one bee >:(
8 baddies in a row to be exact :)
este mismo truco se puede hacer en la etapa de las cavernas verdes, en el penultimo mundo, solo ke ahi las vidas te las dan de forma mas rapida xD
@zammersara1 It is. Just old Left on your controller, and you'll get infinite lives.
i have the old 1
for gbc but i use it on gba and u help me its like old with barley bright colors ever played it i really need a walkthrough on it
Tested on Japanese version of DKC and it worked!
00:30- here is the trick

got it for super nintendo and always done this!!!!
Vols De Funky...LMAO
Still works on the switch!!!
@doddsino in the folds of funky is a direct translation..true story
Is there any area in Donkey Kong Country 3 to grind lives?
Not as far as I know.
@@NeoArashi Ah man. What are you suppose to do then?
@@John-nb6ep don't die? DKC3 isn't exactly hard. Otherwise, Lakeside Limbo, the first level of the game, has one balloon of each color that aren't super well hidden (so 6 lives) but the obvious KONG letters, for another live.
@@NeoArashi Went through 200 or 300 lives with DKC2 at least. It's my first time playing DKC3, I've been hearing it's harder.
This is awesome
Does that work?? Can someone tell me if they've seen it work?
once again i wish i would of know that before i went through heck to beat the game
amazing. thank you.
Just out of curiosity, does it roll over to 0 lives after 255, or was that miraculously avoided in this game?
haha I remembered when this accidently happened to me once xD I was freaked out so I turned the game of :P
You get 1-ups for jumping on stuff. Just like SMB, this leads to easy exploitation. Nothing particularly exciting.
Sarcastique?
Does it also work on the Wii?
how did you quit that level so fast, by pressing start?
i suck at this game (probably because im using my keyboard instead of a snes controller.)
Yah this does work on the wii
Ca fait 10 ans que jy jou aussi (quoique quand je les ai downloader, ca faisait des année que j'avais pas jouer)
wooo
i'm going no try it =D
5/5
i wish I could try this. The ending caught me off guard. xDD
Did They Patch This?
$mQkey are you a dumb shit or what your like 4 years old
Yes, the latest patch of the DLC (2017 hotfix) fixed this glitch while giving more support to the online mode for the new servers
McSQURMY dude he was joking
McSQURMY how about you not swear like a five year old, douchebag
They did this on purpose just as mario bros with the turtle on the stairs
pis of cake
You can do this in the first level too, but it will only be like 7 lives.
Thanks. A LOT!
