- hi! some months ago I made a video with different shots from the show because I just.. LOVE this cinematography. I noticed that in season 4 they don't use the lower quadrant framing method anymore and they chose to use centric/symmetric shots a lot more. thanks Tod Campbell for this

A lot of center shots this season compared with the lower quadrant shots we usually see in this series.
Likely to represent Elliot's state of mind from isolation to integration.
The whole series is a bloody masterpiece, yes of course the amazing cinematography but also the soundtrack and the little details that you discover with every rewatch! For example Elliot in S1E1 exiting the subway under a movie advert“Villains - evil always wins” then full circle to S4E13 MM Elliot escaping down same subway but the advert reads “Heroes - evil never wins”. And using Neil Diamond’s If You Go Away in the first ep then the French version in the last ep.

Season 3 ends with m83 - intro and season 4 ends with m83 - outro .

The shot when Elliot and Tyrell are walking through the forest is straight out of a painting.

Never crossed my mind that the lyrics from Robot Boy by linkin park actually describes Elliot in such a precise and correct manner.
Loved the show's cinematography. Very few shows cinematography is appealing. My most favourite from the 4th season is the Episode where they go to Virtual realty. ( Cinematography wise)

Just wanted to add my praise to this. I watch a lot of these types of videos and normally I'm braced for them being a little bit shoddy in terms of the editing and shot choices. This was outstanding. Didn't want it to end. Beautiful work. Thank you.

@@TheTuramarth actually cos mr robot is an hour long it's in a different category than the mandalorian which is a half hour. So mr robot is in the hour category of which the cinematography emmy went to the marvelous mrs maisel

Mr Robot Cinematography is a Masterpiece , Game of Thrones Cinematography is an another Masterpiece, Mr Robot script is fabulous, Game of Thrones script is a Shit. Conclusion : Mr Robot > Game of Thrones.

But i preefer Ramin. His epic music ir elocuent and progresses as the seasons happen.
GOT My other loved show that ended really shity. Mr Robot took us to other land the finale episode
@@TheTuramarth i disagree, maybe got scripts ruined the story towards the end, but the ost compossed for Djawadi made a coda for every let it motiv.
I’m still angry at how they ended this story, and how they wasted the character potential of White Rose, but damn it’s beautiful.

What did you want to happen? I thought it ended pretty well. Minor complaints, but overall pretty good ending.
@@Biggiiful I wanted white rose to be proven correct. An alternate universe. Her character played by a woman in that world.
@@hellohogo the show's entire theme is about everyone escaping their own reality and their own different ways of coping. Whiterose's idea of another world is just her delusion she firmly believed to cope for the loss of her lover. It doesn't make sense that they delve further into timetravel/alternate world theme when the show's message is about accepting your reality. I believed that the machine didn't even worked as intended, the show isn't sci-fi after all. The alternate world Elliot goes through is really his subconscious visiting the real Elliot he confined within a safe perfect world to be protected. Finally, the Mastermind (Elliot that we knew the entire time) gave the control back to real Elliot to accept his reality. The show had its perfect and fitting ending.
@@hellohogo That would have ruined the series in a GoT kind of way. The way it actually ended is the most consistent and true to the series' themes.
I can't help but prefer the first three seasons' visuals. Maybe it was due to budget reasons, but season 4 is so much more generic with its visuals, its mostly just centered wide shots for the cool shots, and it is really yellow and saturated compared to the bleak visuals of before. I still think it's leagues better than pretty much any other show right now, but it isn't as good as the first 3 seasons.
i agree 100%!!!! one of the things that made me fall in love with the show was it's photography, especially the lower quadrant frame shots, i feel like they gave a show its identity. it's sad how they kinda forgot about it in the last season but who knows, maybe it has a deeper meaning within the show (elliot feeling less alienated / more focused on what he wants? idk)
@@hotcarla3465 maybe. There's a lot of changes in the fourth season, like the visual style, warmer colors, zooming, editing, location, it does feel very different to me and I think a lot of that was due to budget. Some of the editing really bothers me though, like some big scene will just have a bunch of different angles constantly cutting whereas a lot of the drama in the previous seasons was just one or two shots. I think the fourth season is still really good, I just prefer season 1-3 especially for their aesthetic

He could have chosen the papercut or something from minutes to midnight. The song and the album sounds like they are made for this series but it is sad to not hear it during the show:')
