    Hi Eric,
thank you very much for this review. Since a year I am a happy owner of a 2013 Suzuki Burgman 650 as well. At Thursday I am going on a 1900 miles trip through Italy and Croatia with the Burgman and my Canadian wife.
    Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪

Great review. Love the bike. I don't want this to be taken the wrong way because I love scooters but it is nice to see a young healthy looking guy choosing a Burgman instead of what seems to be a normally older retirement age crowd. Again great review and bike. I am thinking about selling my Versys and this may be the replacement.

I feel blessed to have found a 2014 Burgman with just 4000 miles on it that a dealer sold to me for just $6000. This will be a great riding year!

I have this exact model and I really like it. It’s nice to see reviews where the author doesn’t spend 15 minutes bashing the scooter because they are “ motorcycle guys” and then admit they like the Burgman at the end. Bergman’s are very cool and it’s ok to like them.

Question: I'm a pretty short guy 5' 7" 180 pounds. You think it's too big for me? There's one for sale 2013 with only 3800 miles 2013 selling for $5800. Great video and appreciate your input.

Nice review - an HD camera would have been nicer. :)
I'm looking at either getting the Burgman 650 or the BMW C 650GT. They both look great. Will test ride them next week and make a decision.

Great video. I just picked up my an650 2014 5 days ago. I am a returning rider who always had motor cycles BSA Lightning, Honda CB500 and Honda CL350. I am having to adjust to the CVT and I'm struggling with the no coasting to a stop. I'm getting used to it. I only have 95 miles riding the back streets.

Hi I have just bought a 2015 burgman 650 with 9000 miles on the clock. I am getting a jerking when cruising at different speeds. But acceleration and braking ate fine. Is this jerking normal
    Cheers, bob

You didn't talk at all about the manual shifting. I live in Colorado and would ride very steep as well switchbacks on roads. So do you think I would use that manual shifting on steep angles with switchbacks over the Auto mode? Also how many miles are you getting out of a set of tires? Thanks in advance.

Air Force guy I’m picking up a 2013 tomorrow from a older man. It needs to be cleaned up. Some scuffs and needs a good cleaning. Any recommendations on a good cleaner to use?

Love the video, I'm getting a 2014 650 burgman, anything I should look for and know? I thank you in advance and maybe you could make an updated video. Take care and happy holidays!

Sorin...not much. Just enjoy. You might consider a Givi windshield for better hand protection (if you live where it gets cold). Other than that, it's a great bike! Good luck!

I have the 2009 version of this scooter and whilst the style looks a bit different I think the spec are probably similar to the model described here or even more recent models. I also own a Kawasaki Voyager 1700. I enjoy riding both the Suzi and Kwaka. The Burgman is a much better bike for the daily commute; it is much lighter and easier to manoeuvre around busy city streets. It does have a long wheel base for a scooter not your pizza delivery guys 50cc or 150cc type scooter. It is designed as a touring scooter as well holding the road, keeping up with the big cruisers, tourers and sports bikes and sitting on the national limit of 110km/h (in most of Australia where I live). The CVT is responsive meaning you can zip away from the lights with a throaty roar if you want. Auto mode is best but there is a manual mode if you must push buttons. There is also a power boost button to use when in auto mode that gives extra grunt for over taking. Double discs up front and a single disc on the back pull the bike up well by use of levers on the handlebars - as a CVT there is no clutch. A parking brake with a handle in the fairing near the right knee complete the stopping mechanism. The parking brake is useful as the CVT goes into drive when the scooter is stopped. The dash provides a wealth of information, speedo and odo, tacho both are dials. There is a screen with fuel, temp and by toggling buttons trip meters, fuel consumption and a clock. Either side of the dash are latched storage cubicles and underneath them running the full length of the dash is a lockable storage area with a cigarette lighter style socket for charging various gadgets. On my scooter the standard windscreen has been replaced by a Givi which is slightly wider and covers the handle bars. On the open road this keeps the wind off the chest and reduces pressure on the arms. It can be lowered for more air flow at low speed. There is room under the seat for two full face helmets. The rider's position on the seat is comfortable and there are three positions for legs one of which is almost cruiser style highway pegs but behind a fairing. Pillion footboards are wide enough for the biggest feet. There is a built in back rest for both rider and pillion. If your budget can afford it remove the pillion backrest and add a top box for extra storage and the pillion will still have a backrest. Forget the bike/scooter thing - get what suits you, that you can afford and get out on the open road and enjoy the ride.

I recently purchased a 2009 Burgman 650, myself! I love it!! It’s a non Executive model and has a little over 38K on the odometer, it runs great!! I’ve changed the oil already as the message was on when I bought it. The PO kept a log in the rear of the owner’s manual of the maintenance performed!
This replaced a 2005 GSXR600 I totaled, but thankfully walked away!! I was actually set to go look at a 07 GSX-R750, but the seller rescheduled minutes before we were to meet. This gave me time to think about if I really even wanted another super sport type bike. I also have a Hayabusa and an SV650. I occasionally do track days, but am honestly not very competitive, I can easily do those on my SV650, and have! I’m glad I went with the Burgman, something different and loads of fun and practicality!! Happy and safe riding!

Martin, they ceased production of the 650 back in 2018. They now only make the smaller engine Burgmans. You might can still find a new '18 model 650 for sale if you look carefully.
