Great memories! Mick Pattison was destined to play for Australia in 1982. Alas, a few weeks after this splendid game, he broke both his collar bones and our season was virtually over. Thanks so much Jason for posting this wonderful blast from the past.
Thank you very much for the upload Jason. I was at this game as a 13 year old kid sitting with my family on the hill. Brings back great memories of my childhood.
The tackle on Rampling at 4.02 is an absolute shocker. Dropped heavily on his head and shoulders by three opponents in a totally premeditated way. Rex says it wasn’t a “spear tackle” so that’s all good. How he did end up in a wheel chair was pure good luck.
I remember the ch 7 Sunday evening broadcast. A whole game would be packed in 40 mins ..They would never tell you the score during sports report before the game ..
I guess Souths made more forward progress than Wests and won the game. Players were so much smaller then, the "grass" non existent around halfway, basic camera angles, Rex....
Thanks so much for the upload. So many memories brought back to life.

Spot on Tom. If memory serves correctly, he was injured in the City vs Country game.
Great memory, Jason. And phil duke - who played NSW state of origin a few weeks later - did the damage! Please keep posting these great games!
