The Celestials vary in sizes depending on their environment and what they’re doing. In Eternals, Jemiah the Analyser literally created a galaxy on the palm of his hands making him bigger than any of these beings. Also Eternals writer Ryan Firpo said in a deleted treatment, Arishem shrunk to the size of a normal human being when he was showing Sersi the World Forge.
Actually it was a star he created. But still makes him very tall.

Actually Thor can summon lighting at will from his body without his hammer. This has happened before although very rarely in that manner, like against doom in the 70's, and when Thor and Hercules had a duel Thor summoned lighting to get out of hercs headlock, and in the movie his hammer was just to help channel his power.
Thor vs Hela in Ragnarok, Thor summoned lightning and shocked the entire Asgard fortress

Nah, Groot aint 7 meters and while its true that Galactus' size and looks changes I've never seen him as small as 8.8m (except for that time he was turned into a human).
In Fantastic Four 244 he was beaten by a combination of FF and Avengers and had gone so long without feeding he was close to death. At that point he shrank down to about 9m. Shortly afterward Reed saved his life.

It just dawned on me that comic book characters can be any size the writer wants at that current moment without regards to any sort of story continuity. It's almost like fictional characters are not bound by the physical laws of the universe and only obey the creative whims of whoever is drawing them on a piece of paper.

I would argue that’s just bad worldbuilding. It’s one thing to have a character whose “thing” is to shrink and grow, or changing sizes for artistic reasons, but there should be at least *some* level of in-universe continuity. It helps add a layer of believability to a story when it’s supernatural or magical elements are bound by rules of some kind, or at least certain concepts or themes. I hate “random bullshit go” type explanations for stuff.
They dont the only ones that do change their size like galactus pr celestials to due to surroundings or what theyre doing currently

I realize Galactus is as tall as he wants to be, but he is usually depicted as big enough to hold beings like Silver Surfer (regular sized humanoids) in the palm of his hand. That would put him well above 8m. Never heard of him being that small... nor does he usually grow bigger than a planet. He "could" do either, but both would be pretty rare. I just think it's weird to say 8m is his 'normal' height when he barely ever does that. Going by past appearances, normal would be closer to 50m or so.

Galactus is a cosmic being like Mistress death, eternity and living tribunal. Cosmic beings do not have a physical body. However when interacting with other species they tend to appear in physical form in varying sizes. These beings are as big as eternity (the embodiment of the multiverse) himself.

Galactus appeared twice...Although he has different sizes, I would've included him only once. Just like the example you made, when he was holding Earth and for the size, I woulnd't give him a number, just a "variable".

Galactus is WAY bigger than you have him down for. If you remember him from the original secret wars run, he was as large as a mountain, with Reed Richard comparing him and his teammates as fleas. Those that caught Giant Ant-Man during Civil War didn’t look as small as that.

Jormungandr is MUCH longer than he is tall or wide. He's big enough to wrap around the Earth once, but while he's much bigger around than a human is tall, he's not bigger than the Earth or even bigger than a skyscraper when discussing height or width instead of length. The Marvel version is also capable of changing shape, and disguising his true appearance, so that he can appear on Earth as a much smaller being, or exist out-of-sync with the material world in an ethereal form, which he does most of the time.
The Living Tribunal doesn't really have a physical size, because he doesn't really have a physical form. He's a living concept. He draws on the services of beings from the Dimension of Manifestation when he wants to appear in physical form -- they loan out the larval form of their populace to such beings, as the Anthropomorphs (as they call themselves) gain experience and knowledge from serving as hosts which allows them to mature into the adult form of their species. Thus, the Living Tribunal, Eternity, and other such living concepts can arrange to have bodies of any size they happen to find convenient in a given situation, and destroying those bodies doesn't harm them (they do tend to try to avoid it, as it's bad form to allow harm or trauma to occur to the beings who are serving as their bodies). As V said, "Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy. And ideas are bulletproof." To kill the Living Tribunal, you essentially have to kill the ideas of equity, vengeance, and necessity of which he is composed, and to do so everywhere in the Multiverse.
