A 270 with a 4 bolt flywheel is very early production. I have a brand new Aluminum one.. hard sell. Nice have a lot of help. I’ve rebuilt 20-30 GMC 6’s by myself in the last 50 years. Harder now at 79 but still doing them.
Why would you bother? Could have used a more modern in-line six and any syncro gear box from any late model Chev/GMC for a massive upgrade in driveability. The old 270 would make an excellent boat anchor.

Smooth take down and rebuild; gotta love the valve grind and reset, now thats spec. as i remember it also! How sweet it nis!!!
