I love how you can see Lana's personal growth in this demo compared to the released version, in one saying she wants to die and in the other saying she should try to get rid of these problems every day and night. It's also really cool to see this personal growth in "High by the Beach" compared to "Put Me in a Movie", where in "Put Me in a Movie" Lana says: "Lights, camera, action, you know I can't make it on my own" and in HBTB Lana says: "Lights, camera, action, I'll do it on my own"
This is the type of song that the people who don't listen to lyrics can just enjoy because it's pretty, and the people who listen to lyrics get devastated
Thank you for posting. I used to listen to this when I was going thru a tough time, just crying and wishing for death. This song is so important to me, I'm always happy when someone mentions this demo. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
now you gotta react to it talk to jesus by lana. it’s unreleased but it is on youtube. love you❤❤❤❤❤ it’s really amazing how you can compose so many thoughts on a song from a single listen
This specific version of the song is about an interview that take place in 2014 during which the person had lured her into a false sense of security with sinister intentions to get a clickbait headline out of her. They kept pestering her about death & stuff till she said "I wish I was dead already". It was a very depressing time in her life, but she wasn't s*icidal or anything like that. People were upset with what she said and she was traumatised/furious. She still has a fear of being misunderstood or taken out of context which comes up in her interviews or music. 3 years later when she was in a better place, she changed the lyrics to a more uplifting version and got Stevie Nicks on it. :)
Such an important topic. *It’s all relative* I come back to. 🌿It applies so much to reframing like you mention your workbook explores. 🌿Everyone’s feelings need to be validated and us all have a space to feel heard without judgment or any response at all, if that is simply all that is needed at the time. 🤍Supporting each of us where we are is so important and helps to not dismiss others who differ from us in ALL the ways-I mean…🦋the beauty is in the diversity & uniqueness we each have and experience! Meeting people where they are is such a beautiful thing to learn to do and journey to be a part of. ❤ the love you share through these rough, raw topics that are so taboo we must choose words carefully! Sending 🤍 to everyone!
@@mendwithmerewow! What a compliment! Thank you! 😊 I would love to achieve such a thing at some point! Thank you for the encouragement. Excited to dive more into your’s! Sending ❤.
I would love you to react to some FKA Twigs music, for example her best know 'cellophane' is about an unrequited love, a public break up allegedly with Robert Pattinson
Lana has so much uplifting music too for when you're feeling like her sad songs are too much -- you should listen to sweet or paris, texas, I think you'd love those ones and find them comforting
We are beautiful, aren't we? This song is pretty accurate sometimes. I mean, it'll make you vry the moment you listen to it. The pain in her voice is powerful. But, we'll get through it. That's what makes us ''Beautiful People with Beautiful Problems''. Love you🤎
I suggested this last Lana video, sorry it made u feel so much 😭 the Stevie Nicks one really is different, and I feel like gives hope to anyone who has struggled w depression/SI. Idk how long you’ve been a Lana fan, but I was there in 2014 pre-ultraviolence, and you could see how much she was going through and a lot of her fanbase were genuinely worried for her safety, especially after the guardian interview. So to see her in the last few years, talking about how happy she is, with great friends & chosen family makes me so emotional 🥲
I love your channel so much, im a Psychology Student here in Brazil, so you help me a lot to learn all the therapy concept with the music i love, and also help me in my english (thats still not great tbh, my bad). I hope you could listen to even more Lana and Ethel Cain songs
My day is just instantly better when Mere posts. I would absolutely love to see your reaction to the Stevie Nicks version and to see your reaction to the evolution of the song. ❤️
This is such a good one… the difference in the demo to the released version shows how much she’s grown… you should react to looking for America at some point, lots to analyse😊
Because this is one of two versions, I think this one is the very first, draft-like version that, to my knowledge, was possibly supposed to be (but never made it) on Ultraviolence. There is, as I said, another version of this same song with more electronic Honeymoon-ish production and some slightly changed lyrics, and *that* one was supposed to be on Honeymoon. You should be able to find it if you search up "Beautiful People Beautiful Problems Honeymoon Version" on RUclips. :)
Hii, I’m a big fan of you from Brazil. I would really love it if all your reactions had subtitles on, especially the ones where you react to Lana. I'm improving my English, but having the subtitles makes it easier for me. Kisses from Brazil!
Queen can you react to My Immortal by Evanescence if you haven’t heard it. That song is one of the most gut wrenching and powerful songs I have ever heard. It dives into so many dark feelings.
Hey mere! Love the video just a suggestion but I’d love to see you react to Amy winehouse songs she had such a beautiful style voice and lyricism and I think you’d love her
Mere please do The Last Song I’m Wasting on You by Evanescence! it’s a beautiful song about this exact situation, but more importantly about getting out of it and shutting that door (btw it’s not a rock song, it’s just Amy and her piano, her vocals are insane in this one), you’ll love it!
Queen can you react to I love you I’m Sorry by Gracie Abram’s? It mimics a story by that went viral of hers called I Miss You I’m Sorry and I absolutely love both versions.
Suggestions for unreleased songs by Lana that have interesting lyrics: Pink Champagne (Let Me Love You Like A Woman DEMO) Unfixable (Shades of Cool DEMO) Melancholia (Ultraviolence DEMO) Dragonslayer (Ultraviolence Unreleased) Fine China (Ultraviolence Unreleased) I Talk To Jesus (Ultraviolence Unreleased) Cult Leader (Ultraviolence Unreleased) If I Die Young (Honeymoon Unreleased) Come With Me (Honeymoon Unreleased) Cry Kill Die (Honeymoon Unreleased) Valley Of The Dolls (Lust for Life Unreleased) Poetry in Motion (Lust for Life Unreleased) Zodiac (Ocean Blvd Unreleased)
That demo is really hard to listen for me. I don't like to think that Lana ever had to go through something like this. But it's a relief listening to the released version which has a "happier" tone
Please react to vampire empire by adrienne lenker of big thief There is a solo version and a version with the band the latter one is more visceral so you should check out that one Adrienne is a really underrated sing songwriter but everyone who likes her says that she's quite possibly the greatest lyricist we have today A lot of her lyrics are more abstract but she also has a bunch of songs with straight forward emotions as well and vampire empire is a great example of that
Please, please, please react to Daughter or Ex:Re, These are projects by the singer Elena Tonra, I think her lyrics are worthy of analysis and are full of emotions and meaning. I love your reactions.
Hello mend with mere. I am. A sensitive female from Australia. Thankyou for sharing this Powerful song and video. Iam 28 years old. Iam a Survivor of domestic Violence from my dad and his wife. Iam 9 years out of that. this song is sooo sad. I have been in that State of mind of not wanting to live in the past. And my feelings and thoughts were dismissed. But music saved Me now I have faith in God and Jesus. mend. With mere. I do have disabilities that cause me physical pain so I also feel this song speaks to Me in a way of Iam still Beautiful even though I feel physical pain. So there are Two ways I view this song by Lana Del Rey. I know you might want a break from. The sad songs. But I would love you too Do a reaction to the. Music video and song. Concrete angel by Martina McBride it's a country song But WARNING the. Song and music video for. Concrete angel is very sad It's about child abuse. And It is a song that means Alot to me. The video is very important to the story of that song
I’m not sure if you’ve heard of her music but I think you should react to RAYE. ‘Ice Cream Man’ is one that comes into mind, it talks about sexual abuse. I saw it live last month and it’s stuck with me since. Love your videos ❤🫶🏻
I think the demo is about Lana being gaslit by her s.o. who weaponized her depression to make her feel "crazy" and shift all the blame onto her. Also, it may be a response to vicious media treatment of Lana when she was depressed (people mocking her and making comments like "poor little rich girl")
The demo is giving me the impression of a person who feels like no one notices their pain and is desperately reaching for, at least, some sort of validation
I love both versions equally btw but the released one definitely shows Lana's personal growth (and Stevie singing the second verse is giving me life ❤)
I love how you can see Lana's personal growth in this demo compared to the released version, in one saying she wants to die and in the other saying she should try to get rid of these problems every day and night. It's also really cool to see this personal growth in "High by the Beach" compared to "Put Me in a Movie", where in "Put Me in a Movie" Lana says: "Lights, camera, action, you know I can't make it on my own" and in HBTB Lana says: "Lights, camera, action, I'll do it on my own"
And in some other songs it is also noticeable, like "ride" compared to "looking for america" and so many others.
Lana’s voice cuts to the bone in this Demo version. Her raw voice is truly amazing.
Thanks for reaction, Sweet Mere! 🤗
It’s gorgeous!
More Lana PLEASE we need this!!❤❤
This is the type of song that the people who don't listen to lyrics can just enjoy because it's pretty, and the people who listen to lyrics get devastated
Yesss I was dying to get a new Lana reactioonnnnn, also I recommend reacting to Looking For America, it's a cool song and her vocals are killing it

The original sound for Lana’s album lust for life would’ve been so beautiful ❤
But so sad
