Hi, my name is Peter & welcome to the PSX Gaming Memories channel. Here I want to share my overall experiences & honest opinions of the games I have played on the original Playstation (PSX) console over the years while also diving into & experiencing other games that were realised for the system in other countries & regions that I wanted to play but never got that chance to back in the mid-90s....!
The original Playstation is such an iconic console that helped change how we play & experience games today & it is my all-time favourite console that is home to some of video gamings biggest & most well-known franchises. So I want to share my journey of reliving some of those great memories & share new experiences with you...!

Hi, thanks for the review, are the controls more of a simulation game or are they arcade controls ? I hesitate to buy it, because I hate simulation-like controls, but I can handle arcade controls even if it isn't an easy game
The controls are more arcade focused, it is tough but is enjoyable, the more time you spend playing it.

This game loos pretty cool i might check it out, i dont know whatbit is but i never really liked kart games growing up even that one that doesn't need to be named, i think speed freaks was the only one i ever enjoyed for some reason, also i hate rubber banding it is the devils tool and the cheapest game mechanic ever
Yea i agree 100%, these more realistic kart games are always hit & miss in my opinion, this game is the best from the ton of games that i've played but then it is very different from games like speed freaks, crash team racing & even the mario kart games which i honestly love playing but i also really hate the rubber banding & this always spoiled the experiences. Winning races really depends on pure luck and not even skill as that doesn't exist with these games.
Its just a cheap & lazy way to get a game finished as quickly as possible. A lot of these games had real potential and could have been so much better without the use of those cheap mechanics but unfortunately its unlikely to change as you still see that with more modern games which is a shame.
Aside from my ranting LOL, Formula Karts is a lot more enjoyable compared to other kart racers once you put time into it but its still tough.
@@PSXGamingMemories well said, its very frustrating when the game is essentially punishing you for doing well, its even in my all time favourite racing game need for speed underground where you can lose any race at the very last second no matter how flawlessly you drove, i wish there was a list of all the games that didnt have rubber banding in them, maybe gran turismo but im not sure
@@joshuaarmstrong377 Gran Turismo doesn't really use it as such, but anything mainly arcade based generally uses rubber banding or most games from EA are typical of this & always have been.
There was one game a played a few years ago on ps3, it was a jimmy johnson racing game, can't remember the name of it but it had the worst rubber banding ai i'd ever seen, you would always end up in last place and could very rarely ever get close to 1st place, I stopped playing it because of that.
@@PSXGamingMemories i think i have that game, is it called anything with an engine? It was a weird racer from what i remember playing but i found the attitude of the game to be too annoying to play, every ten seconds the characters would say some smart arse comment and everything was "bad arse american" i dont think i played it long enough to notice the rubber banding
