I watched your video before doing this same task on my house. I almost didn't read the instructions and was about to do exactly what you did. You should consider redoing this video to show the proper installation process: determine pitch, line up numbered hole, adjust elbow to level, install bracket, seal seam, then attach top. Cheers!
for these does it need to be perfectly level? I installed mine yesterday but couldnt get it leveled but a bit slanted about 15 degree on one side @@mrramsescanfixit5917
Also the base should be adjusted for the pitch of the roof. Instructions to do that are on the turbine box. Also seal all inner seams with roof calking.
It would have been much better to remove at the top of the base instead of at the bottom. Mounting it the way you did made it impossible to seal the bottom of the base where you removed it (instructions recommend sealing all seams)... so now you have a good chance of future leaks. Also, why didn't you clean up the hole to match the base... not doing this lowered considerably the amount of air flow.
thats only 12 inch, isnt that too small? and i want to install it on my house (50sqm) with 24 inch turbin, is it too vulnerable with rain leak? is there a maximum turbin diameter to be installed on the house?
The elbow has numbers above the mounting holes along the bottom. These numbers are for roof pitch. Use the number that corresponds to your roof pitch and line that up with a line that is on the base. The other screw holes will match up. Then, simply twist the top portion of the elbow until level. Confirm level with a level.

How do you level it?
