Does it transfer your wireless AirPods or do you have to unpair and repair them to your new iPhone! I hope you can help me with this question, thanks in advance
Thanks a lot for posting this. I just upgraded from an iPhone 6 to the SE 2020. It worked great. And a hell of a lot simpler than any of the previous methods.
it's good to see that the screen goes dark when it's not touched. I am so OCD and thought I might get burn in. Gonna try this tomorrow when I get my 12 Pro Max.
I have a question since you’ve already done this. When you transfer data to a new phone do your pictures still have the correct dates? Hope that makes sense
Hi. Can I do this setting all over again once I complete this whole process? I had done all the steps you mentioned but then did reset. So can I transfer again?
There is only one issue , the infamous “OTHER” data also migrate from your old iPhone to your new iphone and this other data is actually pain in the a** , is there any way through which we can transfer the data without transferring this massive , space eater OTHER data? Pls do advise
I am not getting the 'Transfer data window' screen. It only activates phones and not transferring data. Please help me someone. I do not make backup on I cloud.
I would expect Lightning-to-Lightning migration to be slower than wireless. iPhones (and the 9.7” iPad Pro) only have USB 2.0 controllers, and USB-A-to-Lightning cables only transfer data at USB 2.0 speeds (480 Mbps). On the other hand, iPhones can connect at 866 Mbps over 802.11ac, which is almost twice as fast (you should get the full speed if you’re keeping the iPhones right next to each other). The real test would be trying this procedure with iPad Pros.
great video! is it safe to delete my old iphone without affecting the data transfered into the new one? or do i have to back it up like you’d normally do before the migration tool was a thing? please answer
USB Female OTG Adapter Lighting Cable will do the same thing and can be purchased for as cheap a five dollars on Amazon. Way cheaper than the camera adapter from Apple.
loving this tool , cos i have used it to set a new ipad pro last year with an iphone X, and im doing it today again for the 1é pro max from an X.. the only downside of this is that the phone still need to download all apps and games that you have installed on the other device instead of just a real 1:1 copy... i guess that there is a reason for it . maybe they want to be sure we get the latest version of each app and games... but it would be cool .. and with magsafe now, i really start to see a portless iphone coming in a few years ...
Can anyone help? I have an iPhone 7 and iv updated to IOS 12.4. Just got the iPhone xr and it dosnt have this option to do the migration thing. Just the normal 4 back up options. Its linking the two phones together at the beginning and setting up face ID, but just does not have the option for the migration? Only thing I havnt done is swap the sim cards over. Any ideas pleasde
ITunes used to be a really app (years ago) but has now become an app from Hell. Just to confirm this it has told me today that it cannot read the contents of my iPone 11 for transfer to iPhone 12. It never ceases to increase stress levels and I usually avoid it like the plague. So many that for that very informative presentation...great.
why do you still have iTunes? Do you use Windows? On my way too old MacBook Pro (like literally, it's a Late 2008 Unibody, the first one) that's running Mojave still, it works great.
Do both phones need to have the new IOS 12.4 in order to migrate? Or does my new phone just needs the new IOS 12.4? I’m asking because I recently lost some data on my current phone and would like to transfer data from old iPhone 6S
I am wondering if I should upgrade this year or next year. This year’s iPhones seem a bit underwhelming and next year seems more exciting. I have an iPhone 8 Plus.
hieuniverse I have the 8 plus also but I’m starting to get annoyed of it’s giant bezels so I will be upgrading to the iPhone X. That’s the last model with Qualcomm modems unless apple puts back Qualcomm modems in the new iPhones coming out in September.
Does this transfer in app data as well? Say, songs on Spotify downloaded on the old phone for offline listening moving to the new phone and to Spotify in the new phone without having to re-download that data...
That migration tool looks like it answers a question I have. In the past, I've had to update the IOS on the new iPhone before restoring from the backup of my old iPhone with a newer IOS. But what happens when you have a legacy IOS on your iPhone 5? With different IOS versions, can we do restores? I don't think so. But I expect the migration tool will work regardless. Is this correct?
Thank you for this video. Upon completion, I still have a HUGE remaining concern, though. 95% of my current iPhone's Music Library (I have an original iPhone SE 64GB) is ripped content from approx. 500 CDs. This content was ripped using an Apple Super Drive to a 2014 MacBook Pro 512GB. Now here's the thing: The hard copy CDs have since been donated to a local library. The 2014 MacBook Pro 512GB was exchanged via Apple Trade In for credit toward my current Apple Watch Series 5. Prior to that Trade In, the MacBook's entire content was backed up to an external G: Drive (3rd Party product purchased @ my local Apple Store). Hence, this is my HUGE remaining concern: If I purchase a brand-new iPhone SE (the newest version w/ 64GB storage or higher) and use the new iPhone Data Migration process as described in your video, will ALL of my Music Library migrate to the new iPhone SE, even though most of that content was ripped originally from CDs and NOT purchased from iTunes? This would be a dealbreaker if the content in question does not transfer.
Yo this is actually really awesome, I’m loving these new and awesome wireless features, I know for sure this one is gonna come in handy sometime later on 😄😁
