    This song is famous for the solo battle between Kanami and Misa (which is absolutely fantastic) but the cherry on the top for me is the grungy strumming from our little pigeon. Her skills have come a long way and is the heart and soul of this band. I am still rocking that Miku crush.

    Band-Maid came to be when Miku (rhythm guitar, lyrics) came with the idea of band dressed as maids that played Rock n Roll, called the "the gap" in Japan. Meaning the difference between what you see and what you hear. She pitched the idea to her agency and got a go ahead. First recruit was Kanami (lead guitar, song writer) who she found on the internet performing her own songs. Kanami in turn contacted Akane (drums), who had worked with her on her songs. Akane contacted MISA (bass), she knew MISA from Music school (Tokyo School of Music) and MISA joined after thinking about wearing a maid's uniform over night. The now band began working decided 2 things, they needed a rhythm guitar for a fuller sound so Miku stepped up to learn to play guitar ( Kanami is her teacher). #2 Miku did not have a strong enough voice to front a Rock band. So they went to their agency who said they have someone, but she likely would not go for the maid uniforms. So they held an audition for Saiki(vocalist) without telling her about the maid uniforms or meeting Miku. Saiki joined, but did not meet Miku nor was she told about the uniforms until the day before their first gig. Fortunately for all of us she stayed and she has a rather odd relationship with Miku, she won't her come to her house, but they're drinking buddies.
    They write, arrange, and produce their songs, used to be just Kanami and Miku creating songs but now all are taking a bigger role in their music.
    Everyone BE SAFE, sheltering in California.

    Saiki sings in English Love me, love me, love me hey boy. Give me, give me, give me hey joy. Die for you. Band-Maid is so ridiculously talented, charismatic and appealing as unique individuals who just happened to get together (thanks to an 811 year old pigeon) and produce some of the best and most compelling music l have heard in a very long time before l came across this band back in January 2017. And after watching them perform live in LA last September l went from fan to unhinged fanatic. They are just that damned good in person. Sacramento loves Band-Maid. Indeed.

    MISA! MISA! MISA!
    As already noted, it was Miku (rythem guitar and backing vocals) that worked at the Maid Cafe and came up with the concept.
    Saiki, the lead vocalist, auditioned for the part and knew nothing about the Maid outfits until Miku sprung it on her just before their first live performance together. Saiki said had she known what these crazy people had planned she would have walked away!! LoL!!

    Little correction: Red Rose Miku came up with wearing the Maids outfits and Blue Rose lead singer Saiki was the only member of B-M to audition for the band.

    • @sacluvsBM
      @sacluvsBM 4 года назад +5

      And she had to be lied to by Kobato just to get her to even show up. Saiki: You know THEY (referring to both Miku and the 811 year old pigeon that rents a little space in Miku's beautiful head) lied to me and when l got to the studio it was too late to back out. If l had known l would have to wear that ridiculous Maid Cafés employees uniform or that there would be a pigeon involved l wouldn't be here. I am the only normal person here. MISA had a big problem with the maid uniform as well.

      @@lakenneth374 Here is a direct quote from the interview which is on RUclips. "They lied to me. If l had known that uniform or that a pigeon was going to be involved l would not be here." And there were no other girls. You should take some time and view the Japan in Motion interviews as well as those at the restaurant counter with the Chef. When Saiki says "they" she means both Kobato and Miku. They are two very distinct and separate personalities. At least in both Saiki and Miku's minds. The Maid Cafés costume was presented to Saiki just before taking the stage. It would have been difficult to back out at the very last second. Best Regards.

    The studio version doesn't have the battle in it. They do things like this at all the concerts making each one unique and the crowd can brag about what happened at "their" concert.

      Yes, you beat me by one minute.
      For this reason i wish more people reacted to the music video first. to actually hear the song itself then watch the live version. Unfortunately too many people that make suggestions do not respect the songs themselves and just the live performances. I prefer the studio versions to many live versions. Choose Me, Dice and this one as well.
      /startrant I am not that big of a live music fan because bands change the fracking songs. Like this one for instance. The conversation is great but they interrupt the song to do it. The latest live video for Domination is great BUT is also interrupts the song and the guitar solo is hurt by it. /endrant :)

      @@claytoncourtney1309 I agree with seeing the studio if possible, but if the band is good enough I prefer the live. Band Maid and Nightwish seem to put more depth into a live version, reacting to the crowd for the most part.

    The "battle" isn't in the studio version. They often add little bits to songs for the live shows. The official video is worth watching (even if not for a reaction) as it's a fun video, with them as maids at a high-society party, mucking things up, before rebelling. ruclips.net/video/tGXzhxXVimY/видео.html

    The “conversation” is not on the studio version. They are always changing things up like rearranging certain songs and adding solos and other things during their live shows. This was 2018. In 2019/2020 they removed this at live shows while adding stuff to other songs.
