- Hello everyone! In this video, you will see how my dog Lajka and I spent 3 unforgettable days on a wild camping trip in the forest by a cold mountain stream. I'll show you how to make a great tarp-covered tripod shelter and a cozy army bed. I started the fire in a primitive way using the bow drill method. I also make a roof above the fire on a tripod that I cover with aluminum foil. This method proved to be an excellent way of keeping the fire going during heavy rains. I light the Fomes fomentarius mushroom on the fire and let it smolder overnight to preserve the embers in case the fire goes out. On the first day, I prepared pork liver fried in oil and garlic, while on the second day, I smoked a piece of pork leg in my aluminum oven for 8 hours. The torrential rain that did not let up brings with it a torrent of mud and soon the stream turns into a wild river and threatens my camp. Considering the circumstances, on the third day, I leave the camp urgently because in a few hours, the whole valley will be covered with water. This camping is my personal favorite and most interesting so far. I am very grateful for the new experience.

Feuerbohren - Ich glaube du hast die Kerbe für das Bohrmehl zu früh gemacht, beim nächsten Versuch bohre erst bis eine Mulde entstanden ist und setze erst dann die Kerbe für das Bohrmehl. Kannst es ja mal versuchen !

My shoulder hurts just thinking about two hours straight of bowdrilling. Lol. I did watch Clay Hayes's recent firedrill video and he used a little pinesap as a lubricant for the pivot of the bow drill. First ive seen someone do that, but he got it going first try. He also used two wraps of string around his spindle.
Sometimes I succeed from the first, and sometimes from the tenth. It depends on how much moisture is trapped in the wood. It is important to be persistent🙂

Luxon, you know I'm happy, lol. For the life of me, I could not figure out what the heck you were doing. First, I thought a bow and arrow? Then when you closed in on the fire and I saw just that little bit of fire, I just laughed and clap my hands. You make me feel like a kid again! The tin foil over the fire--omydog!!! Is there anything you can't do, Luxon? This shows me skills without a lot of anything and you two look so comfy. I want to invite myself to dinner lol. My doggie's name is Papi and I have him trained to sit and see his food, but not touch it until I tell him just like Lajka. For every bite, I have, he gets a bite. And now the vid is over and I am sad cos I have to wait two whole weeks for another. Have a great time, and give kisses to Lajka for me.

Love the solution for the fire rain protection, i usually hang a contractors open trash bag hig over the firecamp and the drying wood. And keep the flames rarher low. But the tripod and aluminium foil cover, no way to melt the cover if fire and heat gets too high
