So something I’ve learned listening to true crime is that coroners are NOT the same as forensic scientists and don’t know how to investigate crime scenes. To me, cuts from branches on his face and hands and not his legs, indicates he still had his pants on while running through the woods.
Also there clearly had to be tracks from the coroner and police going up there, the two ATVers going up there, and the ATV tracks. So even if there were tracks, they were probably disturbed.

You say you can still find foot prints in the snow using forensic techniques, but clearly no one from county or the coroner knew how to do that.
Also there clearly had to be tracks from the coroner and police going up there, the two ATVers going up there, and the ATV tracks. So even if there were tracks, they were probably disturbed.
This whole case screams botched investigation to me. Not necessarily on purpose, I think they were just inexperienced.
