I came trying to find out how to edit an InDesign image in Photoshop and save the selection back into indesign. I lasso the image element I wanted but can't figure out how to save it or update it in indesign. Can you help?

      Hi Charlotte,
I've used InDesign only enough to know that I know nothing about it🤣. I'm afraid I wouldn't know how to do what it sounds like you're trying to do. If it's specifically the selection you need to then use in ID, then maybe you can save your selection as a channel in PS and maybe ID has a way to read individual channels and load them as selections. I'm probably way off the mark though.
Otherwise if your actual goal is to say, cut an object out from it's background so you can use the resulting cutout in your ID document, then you can do the cutout in PS, remove the background layer so your cutout is on a transparent background, and then use that in ID?
Sorry, not sure how much help this is LOL
      Good luck!

Thank you Steve. Very interesting and cleared explained. I have a situation while selecting a bicycle and it doesn't allow to combined two saved selections on one. Suspecting, after 100 tryouts (!!!) this is because one selects the most outside of the bicycle and it doesn't combine with the wheels for exemple. Invested a whole days work on this!!! Any thoughts? Cheers Carlos

I’m assuming these saved channels can be saved as psd files for later use?

I get to the region for work occasionally and love the sunrise on the waves breaking over the rocks just below here. I need to try the luminosity masking on some of my shots from down below
