Super well done, Tim. Honestly some of the best lighting and filming I’ve seen for a Bible review. Really helps to see with clarity the font, ghosting, details, etc. Great overall review, too. Thank you.
This was such a great review; super short and concise!! I'm not looking for a premium Bible or any Bible for that matter because I have quite a few but I was so drawn to this Bible from the thumbnail and wanted to know more about it. The size looks so perfect and I adore the blue gilding!! It's my favorite color and I'm so obsessed!! Thank you for sharing! Maybe one day in the future I will get myself a personal size Schuyler.
Thank you Pastor Tim for a great review. That is my dream bible, I Love the color, the look, the size, everything about it. I have never read the ESV translation but I’ve heard many people Love that translation. I think I will order this beautiful Bible. I have a Schuyler Quentel in the dark purple in the NIV translatio. Please do a update review and let us know how you like this little bible. I think it’s the perfect size to carry to church, Bible Study, or travel.
what did you think of the ESV compact large print? I don't have much to compare it too but think the leather is super soft (lovely) but font a little small and drips into the gutter for my liking. I would like to hear your thoughts on how it compares to the PSQ. Is there a reason why it didn't make your shortlist in the comparison video? Liked the couple vids I've seen of yours so far look forward to more
Thank you! I’ll take a closer look at it and let you know. I had already done most of the prep work for this comparison when that Bible arrived, so it was a little too late to include it.
The ESV Schuyler PSQ and Allan ESV1 CRE are some of the best smaller bibles on the market. I enjoy Crossways attempts at premium bibles, but the only ones with “good” feeling goatskin are the wide margin or single column; they seem to have recently changed some of their other premium bibles’ goatskin with either a mold or buffer that makes it feel nice, but not as nice as others on the market. Cambridges are nice too, but for the price I’m either going to go with an Allan or Schuyler; more bang for my buck!
If you had to choose between the PSQ and the Heirloom single column personal size for general on the go Bible reading and studying, which would you choose?
I would lean toward the PSQ for study since it has cross-references. I like the Heirloom Personal for reading because of the single-column format and the generous spacing.
I've preached from a regular ESV Thinline for the last fifteen years. I keep almost pulling the trigger on retiring it, but it's hard. How much noticeable is the size difference going to be a regular ESV Thinline and this PSQ?
Great question. I think you'll get used to it with some time if you make the switch, and the PSQ's 8.5pt reads really big, so that's helpful. That said, the difference is still noticeable to me. I'm reviewing a new Thinline when I get home next month, so I'll try to remember to show them side by side.
Great review Tim! Love the channel. Have you ever used this one for preaching? Wonder how well it would read from the pulpit. Have one in my cart on evangelical bible.....and I’m close to just ordering it!
Mr. Tim! Great review. I am looking for a small Bible for short trips (which I take many of). Considering a PSQ, Allan 7c, or Cambridge Concord. The PSQ looks the easiest to read but with no full yap (as opposed to the 7c or the Concord) I’m a little concerned about the gilding and text block of the PSQ getting damaged if transported in a backpack or suitcase. Do you have any thoughts or experiences as to this point? Thank you in advance!
GREAT question. I just took my PSQ to church yesterday… I loved the portable size with a readable type size, but I did find myself being careful with it. I say for with the PSQ and just enjoy the process of wearing it in and making it yours.
I'm getting one of these in slate goatskin, its arriving in a few days. It looks like I made the right choice and that I'll enjoy it. Thanks, this is one of the better review videos out there.
Your reviews are a joy to watch. I’m torn between this and the treveris in blue. I like the treveris single column but the font of the quentel. Is the treveris an easy carry?
Hey I have the treveris and it’s not too big to carry. Only thing to keep in mind with the treveris is that the verses are not exactly matched up or lined up. They more so give you an idea where you are in the passage but it’s not going to be exactly lined up, if that makes sense.
Fantastic review! I like how you explained terms and still kept the review concise. I recently purchased a Schuyler PSQ and it is amazing. I'm a fan. I reviewed it on my channel and I highly recommend it.
Really Beautiful Bible, and great review! This is one I am looking at in the NASB as an alternate to the Allan Reader. So, do you think the Bible font size is something that a person with bad eyes, and wears glasses could read in bed? I was also looking at the Cambridge Clarion. I can’t remember which has the larger font. If you have a Cambridge Clarion to compare, could you give me your opinion on which is easier to read? Once again, really much laid out review with all the facts! ✝️
Hello Tim. I've got a Heirloom Thinline for preaching. Do you think the PQS is suitably smaller to justify the purchase? ie significantly smaller for travelling with compared to the thinline? Ps. Hope you're enjoying Oxford. If you're ever in Bath give us a shout. Wes
@@timwildsmith Really struggling with which Premium to get. I like this one and the ESV Single Column. I want the single column style but I want the quality of the Schuyler.
@@jarebare555 wow, unfortunately that’s what happens when people can’t come up with a biblical defense for things. I’ve been blocked for similar things before and it’s a shame.

That’s great! I went ahead and pulled the trigger and ordered it last night! Can’t wait, thanks for the great in-depth review!

What was the Crossway ESV study Bible you had pictured :17 seconds in the video?
That’s a close-over-board personal size edition. I got it on Amazon a few years ago for Becca.

May I ask if it is the ESV 2016 edition?

Do these sell out often? I’m having a difficult time finding a Schuyler Bible available. “PSQ NKJV Goatskin”
It all depends on which one it is... but they reprint them every year or so.

I think the PSQ reads bigger than the Clarion. Here’s a video where I compare them: ruclips.net/video/arXidMZBk1M/видео.html
Do they not sell the ESV PSQ in imperial blue anymore? I am not seeing it on their website :(
It's probably just out of stock right now.
Man I hope they restock because this thing is super nice! They have it in the NASB but the ESV is my translation of choice. Thanks for the review 👍🏼

Thank you!
Hi Sir what will you recommend SCHUYLER PSQ ESV or ESV CLARION?
I recommend both! Depends on which one you prefer.
Tim the Bible looks great.
Agreed!
@@timwildsmith where do I find this bible
How does this read in comparison to the Clarion? Im stuck in an internal ping pong match between the PSQ and Clarion ESV. Ugh!!
Hahahal... I know that feeling. This is a bit more traditional, whereas the Clarion's single-column design is more unique.
@@timwildsmith neither one reads “better” or “more easily”?
@@davegarciaofficial that's all a matter of personal preference... which one does YOUR eye prefer.
@@timwildsmith my eye prefers not spending $400 to find out!! Lol!!
Tim doesn’t the PSQ and the Quentel match pages? In other words if it is on page 641 in the Quentel it is also on page 641 in the PSQ.
That’s correct... identical page numbers as long as you’re looking at the same translation.
Thank you! I’ve been wrestling with this one or Crossways Omega. I’m leaning towards this one.
Both are great... but this little one is certainly special!
The PSQ, coming by FedEx, today. I bought the dark green one. Yay!
Tim Wildsmith My Bible, just came. It is beautiful, I’m very glad I got it. I’ve decided not to write in it, I have other ones for that. Thanks again.
Is this the large print personal size ESV?
No, it’s the PSQ.
I wish Schuyler had a personal size CSB!! Let them know @Tim :P
I think they’re working on it!
@@timwildsmith I just got an E-mail from Evangelicalbible saying that a PSQ CSB is in the works and may be released in early to late spring of 2023.
Is this the Imperial Blue?
Yes, it is!
@@timwildsmith Really struggling with which Premium to get. I like this one and the ESV Single Column. I want the single column style but I want the quality of the Schuyler.
I hear you. I just said the other day that I wished Schuyler would make a single-column version of the PSQ. That would be the best of both worlds!
Are the pages more white or cream?
They're right in the middle. Not bright white, but not super creamy either.
Closer to the white spectrum I’d say, I’m not a big fan of cream paper and the paper is good on these.
Does not look dark or bold like CAMBRIDGE??
It reads pretty well!
Would you be up for selling this?
I don't have this one anymore.
Why doesn’t Schuyler make the words of Christ in red for other translations? I just see KJV/NKJV with that option.
They do NIV in red letter as well. It's probably a restriction from the copyright holder.
