- How to do the factory reset / canon waste ink counter reset
Follow the steps here;
Hold Stop Then Press and Hold Power, 5 seconds
Release Stop
Press Stop X5
Release Power
Wait for the Green light to Become Solid
Press Stop 5x
Press Power
Printer Should Print 1 page
Press Stop X3
Then Press Power
It should print once more.
Hit Power again, printer should turn off.
RESET Finished

@@rickstechrepairs Thanks worked perfectly however my tanks are half full and i can see air in the line when i lift the front i have done deep cycle clean so many times ive lost count some outher printers have the option in maintenance under line flush but this doesnt have that so how do i clear the lines because i can see many gaps..Biggest problem is the black tank half full prints out everything but black and cant figure out how to flush the lines..Pls help
I contacted Canon Australia to order a set of pads and to ask about resetting. That was 4 days ago, and I am still waiting for a reply from them. I found your site. Removed, washed and dried the old absorbers, then used your instructions on re-setting. Everything sucessfull, Very many thanks.
P.S. Have ordered new replacements from someone other than Canon!

Yeeewww. Worked for me. I opened it up and the pads needs replacing but they're $15 and do it myself or take to a shop and they charge $90

Thank you, tried that, but did not work. My problem is that after re-filling the ink tanks with original ink, I have 15 Alarm flashes meaning that the head (cartridge) is not recognized. Ink indicator is solid on. Same thing after the reset. Could you help, please? Val
After the initial press 5x my machine will just switch off before printing the test page... any idea what I'm doing wrong? Have tried it several times

@@lisabach7247 did you get yours sorted out? Mine was doing the same, just tried it with the computer off and holding down the stop button before turning back on and it worked perfectly
@@lindaswadling1035 thank you for trying Linda. It is on the 2nd round of hitting stop 5 times so the power is already on. I just tried it again and noticed that, in the video, the orange light starts flashing when he starts his 2nd round of 5 stop button presses. Mine does not do this. It just makes a whole bunch of noise, goes to print the test sheet and then shuts off
