This is hinted at via the fact Tom Scratch is still making snuff films. He's the one leaving messages for Rose. Angers Remorse hints this with the Lyric "The story is harboring a liar" Tom Zane in AW2 sends Alan on the wild goose chase for scratch. Telling Alan he has the (still unwritten) Return manuscript
Hm that’s interesting. I always took that line from Angers Remorse as them saying that’s Scratch that returned not Alan. But if every time we see Zane after AW1 he’s actually scratch that would turn the whole series on its head. I gotta look into that angle more. Thanks for sharing.

I believe the end of that spiral can show you that Jesse has herself authored someone else into existence, via Polaris and the slide projector... And then *that* spiral ends where another begins. Jesse didn't get this idea on her own. Someone isn't who they say they are. Multiple someones. That "Tom Zane" guy that we only see on film or a screen? How was Scratch defeated in AWAM? With a... projector? There are so many layers to this spiral. Compare Ilmo to Tom Zane and Jaakko to Alan. They're the same. Scratch kills Jaakko. Ilmo's charisma matches AWAM Scratch's and Tom Zane's, but not AWII's Scratch. See where I'm angling to?
You know I never paid much thought to the projectors in AWAN and AW2 because they weren’t slide projectors. Now that you point it out it is super interesting how many times they show up around Scratch and Zane.
I doubt you solved the whole thing but i appreciate effort. Cant watch the video just this moment but will asap and try to let you know if my interpretation differs with evidence at any point.
