I love looking at my fabric! My favorite way of storing it is neatly folded and stacked on bookshelves. I love to be able to pull pieces out, spread them around, mix and match them, reorganize them, etc. It is definitely a busier look, but as my husband says, that's why there's a door on my swing room! I haven't always had a sewing room, so I know that this is a luxury for which I am grateful.

Thanks for the hanging your fabric idea I store my stuff in a closet and this is really going to help and it’s free!

"Steel yourself" - I feel that way every time I go into my elastic bin. Thanks ladies!

I decorated two filing cabinets with strippable wallpaper and chalk paint. Turned out great. Store my fat quarters for quilting on comic book boards and alligator clips, both available from Amazon.

Haley - you're sooo cool! You're both so cool. This episode is so cool. Ok I'm done. Years ago I had a big closet and hung my fabric by color... it made me giddy every time I looked at it.

I store my fabric in an antique armoire, and hang as much as I can fit on the bar! Wish I had the closet space to hang all my fabric!

I do the mini bolts and write down how many yards I have on the cardboard. This way I can organize by colors. I also like the multi hanger idea as well.

You’ll kill velvet hangers. Use steel pants hangers. Easier to get yardage off and on, and they don’t bow. No, not multi level hangers. 🙄 Huge myth there, matter occupies the same space regardless of the hangers and it’ll get so heavy it can pull down the closet rod.
