I quit drag racing when they went to "bracket racing" (where you lost for going too fast) and automatic transmissions as well as electronics. I'd love to race the way these guys are racing!
I'm a newbie and so I find the commentary very informative. He does a great job at dishin' out the data. It's very much confusing to me. What's an "A" class or "C" class? What are the differences? Is there a "B" class? Just for example. I am laid up after several operations and will be stuck inside for a while, maybe over a year and a half. I found watching the Gasser races is a great and fun way to spend my time.
Well I'm NOT a newbie but I join you in appreciating the time spent in the beginning of this video sharing the rules of this competition and I so much appreciate these competitors for keeping these wonderful hotrods and the racing period correct.
+Quain Stott ,TOM MY PIKE WE WERE born and raised in IN INMAN,S.C. ME& MY BROTHER, RODGER. WE STILL HAVE IT IN OWER BLOOD. RODGER HAS A 57chev. ITHAS A Bad Ass MILL UNDER THE HOOd
Another rule I dont understand is NO CAMAROS. And NO MUSTANGS beyond year 1966. But they say it's based on year 1967 when clearly all that existed and could have been a race car then.
Sorry Allen we are working on that. We are for sure not pro's at the video stuff and we are having to do it on a really tight budget. This was the first one and Mitch really needed to explain to the viewers what the difference is between the Southeast Gassers and the other 100's of so called gassers deals out there today. Also we want the fans to get to know our drivers and not just the cars. Anyway I hope you will give us another chance it will get better.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I appreciate the lessons on the rules.

How can i get a updated official rule book
Is it the solid front axle that makes them handle so poorly?
matp 232 - antique suspension + little cars + big horsepower = "interesting" handling...

We live close together I'm just in Green Creek NC. We need to do lunch one day.
Are these cars running way more HP than in 1967?
Yep
Looks like the drivers don't want to talk, but that's all you want to do.

Because the NHRA started using brackets. Which is you can get banned for going to fast.
this would be a great coverage of a sport I like but 3/4 of this is you talking

It don't matter how fast the car goes?????????????????
The faster the better as long as their legal. If you mean - can they break out, no.
Steve Evans never talked this much at a race.
Nice production. Too much talking and not enough cars.. young people will wonder whats it all about.
