Before watching a video I always read the comments and man, by the way people are responding to it, looks like he said she sucks or smth, but he just did a very professional analysis on what her voice is like based on probably years he spent studying to understand about it. I mean, we get it, you’re a fan, you think she is the best singer in the world with the best technique (even if you’re not qualified for such analysis lolol), but this is the point of view of a professional, and I mean, who cares if she got off pitch?! He’s not condemning her for it, he’s just stating a fact, every singer does it now and then, pretty normal, but you guys felt so attacked. It just makes me laugh how ppl get so offended for so little these days. The video is awesome.

Not to be rude but she’s not off pitch. However, you sang in at least three different keys when imitating her, none of which were the correct one.
Oh and her voice is “childlike” because she’s 15/16 years old here.

She has perfect pitch. It is very difficult for her to sing out of tune and she very rarely does. Maybe if she trips over.. She really showed up Alicia Keys in their duet. Alicia is actually a huge Billie fan and thinks she’s a next level prodigy. But you’re the professional lol

Vocal coaching is a tough job and vocal coaches like you are caught in-between. But for children who want to win that singing competition at the local mall, they need someone like you, Ramsey. You can make them hold a tune in short order. Thanks to vocal coaching, now all our children sound the same.
But for someone like Billie Eilish, whose voice you just reacted to in this Genius video, all that was before she won 7 Grammys, 2 Brits, and an Oscar. In your defense though, she never won an award at her local mall.
Listen to all the good girls go to hell or wish you were gay! Those songs show her in a much “mixed” voice ig. Yes in idontwannabeyouanymore her voice it more soft and high tho I don’t think that is a bad thing her voice is beautiful in every one of her songs!!!💗
She was severely depressed when she wrote this song, about her anxiety attacks, her body dysmorphia, etc.

All the angry comments about her pitch made me laugh a little cause I read them before I got to the part of the video where he comments on it and I was expecting it to be a legit critique of her ability to sing on pitch and instead it was a throwaway comment about her probably not being given a proper key to sing in and so her pitch wasn't dead on.
Maybe you should learn a little more about Billie before saying she’s off pitch.

I’m not trying to be rude or anything but seriously I hate when people call themselves vocal coaches and try to imitate the artists singing when they can’t sing themselves. It seriously bothers me when vocal coaches say that an artist is off pitch when they’re not and then they try to imitate the pitch the artist just sang and it turns out they’re actually the ones that are off pitch themselves but play it off like they just sang it perfectly like what the heck I don’t get it. If your going to claim your a vocal coach at least learn how to sing yourself. Cause if not do you really have the right to critique someone else’s singing when their success and your not.
I don't know a lot about your work but I believe you are a good professional. But singers don't sing perfectly, and the fact that they have their own ways to sing is what makes the difference and gives "personality" to the music they are singing.
Not only that, he said she was off pitch when in fact she wasn’t. He was the one who was off pitch hitting the wrong notes.

Thanks Matt for reducing this vocal to its lowest terms. If she has aspirations of a long term career, I would believe she would have to move and grow well beyond this type of singing.
I don’t get what s about her , she has a quirky voice yes, that some may find interesting but she would fail any vocal audition. Not saying her songs are bad, but her voice is not great at all. The local high schooler singing national anthem bright and clear and in tune at ball game is far better singing example than this . 2 stars out of 4
she has a stylistic voice, which is understandably subjective. to me, her voice is beautiful and enchanting. it has this power that just captivates me whenever i hear her live. but that’s just my opinion 🤷🏻♀️ :)
