    The problem with the segment on artificial intelligence is that the term "conscious" was never defined. I am often surprised to learn that the person with whom I'm having a discussion doesn't even define certain words the same way that I do. Until you establish definitions, most discussions on philosophical topics are fruitless; you'll just be talking past each other.

    • @earthjustice01
      @earthjustice01 3 года назад +8

      totally disagree man, it's often better not to define a word in a philosophical argument. Defining your terms is a great way to get bogged down in a discussion. Of course, sometimes you need to define two main senses of a term, when it is being used by different people in different ways, or the same person using two different senses. But consciousness? It's one of the hardest concepts to define of all. And nobody knows what the hell it is besides. There's notorious disagreement about what consciousness is. Sometimes better not to define it to precisely or you end up ruling out too much too soon. Let me put it this way, we often don't know what we are going to say until we say it. And starting with definitions can impede the flow of ideas. Even if we end up going too far in the wrong direction we can always go back and correct ourselves. That's my two cents.

    • @jseanbrooks1

      @Charles Justice @Mike Dial great points from both of you, even though you're contradicting one another. Not sure what to think now but I'll take both opinions into account next time I'm trying to talk about philosophy with someone.

    • @MikeDial
      @MikeDial 3 года назад +7

      @@jseanbrooks1 What I mean is that I can't understand a person's argument unless I know how he defines important words. I'm not saying that we'll agree on the definition, but at least I'll know where he's coming from. I often find that I'm talking past a person because it turns out that I assume that he defines terms the same way that I do, but he doesn't.

    • @earthjustice01
      @earthjustice01 3 года назад +1

      @@jseanbrooks1, an argument between two people is generally unpredictable, so it's better to let it develop on its own. It usually becomes obvious if there is a conflict between competing definitions, so then it is appropriate to define your terms. Otherwise it just gets in the way of a good argument.

    • @jseanbrooks1
      @jseanbrooks1 3 года назад

      @Mike Dial @Charles Justice.
      I think you both have valid points. Words are often best defined by their context. But if you find yourself in a position where your arguments aren't being rejected not because they are considered false by your interlocutor but because they aren't even making contact, it could be wise to define your terms before moving forward further in the argument.

  • @vadimpetker2689
    @vadimpetker2689 2 месяца назад

    I can tell you what is missing for development: I even made a scientific discovery about consciousness: All people do not notice that the head is always slightly tilted to the side of the leading hemisphere of the brain, and when the other hemisphere of the brain becomes dominant, the head changes the side tilt from right to left or vice versa. I noticed this when I invented a method for determining which hemisphere of the brain belongs to almost any opposite of any aspect, any field of science or aspect. I already know dozens of opposing differences that allow me to see how all types of sciences are connected by the fact that everywhere there is something that relates to the hemispheres of the brain.
    I can tell you a lot of new things that will allow you to win a Nobel Prize and become very useful.

    I ask all to question the very notion of belief. We don't believe the sun shines we know it. If you know god then what purpose is there to believing in him/her/it? Most belief is a system of indoctrination from our childhood, it is not a choice. Doesn't this deprive god of judgement in that people did not choose on their own, they were instead indoctrinated? If the existence of god could be proved or disproven it would have already occurred. Hence belief without knowing for certain. Belief arises from not knowing, we look at life and want to understand meaning we don't know. Then we choose something that matches our personal traits. Then we say we know. If some believers are correct that means the rest are incorrect and worshiping the wrong god. I think these are questions that deserve our attention.

    Find True Peace In Jesus Christ
    What does it take to be Saved?
    Faith in Christ’s Finished Work on the Cross
    The Cost of Sin
    Romans 6:23
    For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
    HELL IS A REAL LOCATION
    Luke 12:4-5
    And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
    But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
    Matthew 25:51
    And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
    Are we all Sinners in NEED of a Saviour?
    Romans 3:10-12
    As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
    There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
    They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
    Romans 3:23-26
    For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
    Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
    To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
    What specifically to Believe in!!
    1 Timothy 2:4-6
    Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
    For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
    Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
    1 Corinthians 15:1-4
    Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
    By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
    And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again according to the scriptures so you can be free from Hell and Death. This is the greatest gift God gave us. By having faith in the Gospel you are sealed with the Holy Spirit forever and SAVED from that moment to eternity.
    Galatians 1:11-12
    11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
    12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
    Heaven or Hell?
    It’s Your Choice
    A PRAYER FOR SALVATION THROUGH FAITH
    “I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that Christ died for my sins and rose three days later from the grave. Thank you for forgiving my sin on the cross. You alone Jesus is now why I have forgiveness and eternal life. Thank you in Jesus name. Amen.”
    If you have prayed this with faith (Wholeheartedly) you are Forgiven and now in the Body of Christ.
    Welcome brother or sister. Remember saying a prayer does not save you, having Faith does in Jesus and what He did for you.
    What if I continue to Sin?
    What if I stop having Faith?
    What if 5 years after being saved I have an affair?
    What if I aborted my child 1 year after I was saved?
    What about suicide?
    When you first had faith in Christ you were sealed and secured from that day forward, no matter what you do or don’t do our saviour has saved your soul and made you a new creation. Remember it Gods Work that saved you not Yours.
    Eternal Security ( 100% Going to Heaven)
    Ephesians 2:8-9
    For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
    Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    Titus 3:5
    Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
    Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
    That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
