Adam describing The Sun as "the UK's favourite dishrag" is incredibly funny to me. To quote the words of Horrible Histories: "It's funny cuz it's true!"
I won't have the Sun paper talked about like that! It makes a fine bird cage liner I'll have you know!
I wouldn’t use The Sun as a dishrag. I want to get the filth off, not put more on
Funny spelling of the daily mirror lmfao
The Sun The Mirror all the same
Surely you meant the guardian, right?
It’s a shame that the BBC wouldn’t go even further and cancel everything with Paddy McGuinness
the blokes useless with out Peter Kay
Amen to that. Useless unfunny minimally-talented drot.
Or better still cancel themselves.
Would love it if that comment alone was what resulted in "Question Of Sport" and "Top Gear" being "shelved".
I saw a newspaper headline that You’ve Been Framed has also been axed & to be honest, I didn’t realise it was still on
The BBC have lost it lately and not just in TV, the changes they are making on radio 2 has done them no favours.
Catchpoint and I Can See Your Voice cancelled, what?
BBC radio is simply dreadful these days. Well, the regional stuff can be OK but the 'main' channels? Less said the better.
Cancel Mrs Browns Boys
The Masked Dancer collapsed in the ratings last year. ITV made the stupid decision to place it in September to October, just as Strictly was kicking off on BBC1, schedule madness, no wonder it struggled to pull in 3 million. The show has not been announced as cancelled, just that it won't return in 2023 due to ITV rugby coverage. It could return in 2024 after a break.
I hope it doesn't.
I don't mind if Masked Dancer is cancelled so long a Masked Singer isn't, that's a lot of fun.
I love The Masked Singer, but I seriously do not get The Masked Dancer ! I mean how on earth is anyone supposed to guess or work out who someone is from their dancing !??? Ridiculous IMO. Hope it stays gone. But long live The Masked Singer
The BBC should put Top Gear out of its misery as well.
Not with the demise of The Grand Bore they won't.
It wants a severe shaking up though. Chris Harris is good and... well, Chris Harris is good.
The Masked Dancer Is Justifiable, since It’s Just The Masked Singer Without The Singing and also its pretty pointless.
I mean, how can you guess someone from the dancing? The Masked Singer seemed better because you could actually guess from someone's singing voice
It’s like the Seinfeld of reality tv programming. It truly is about nothing. They need to realize that they’ve bled the “reality” well dry and just stop already. They’re no longer entertaining.
I read somewhere that Question of Sport has been cancelled too...no surprises there as it wasn't the same without Sue Barker. So that's another show that Paddy McGuinness has lost...
TOTALLY AGREE. What a wally to SACK Sue Barker AND we had the longest running team captains = STABLE, WELL LIKED SUCCESS then BBC destroyed it.
One thing that needs a shake up is ITV1 daytime. They like to say how much live daytime programmes they have, from 6.00am - 2.00pm is all live, but it is utter crap. Good Morning Britain is bland. Lorraine is her usual fake self, pretending to care. This Morning with the queue skippers, fake Phil and fake Holly are actually losing viewers, with Dermot and Alison actually pulling in more viewers. Loose Women is just a lunchtime migraine for anyone who watches. They need a huge overhaul, but ITV1 will not risk it.
I grew up in the 70's in the days of Crown Court. Quality drama on at a lunchtime. That was then. A format that really clould be brought back. If there was the desire for it. E4 needs a shake up as well. Used to have quality imported drama. Now it's just the same old films, endless repeats of the Big Bang Theory, and reality tv.
@@paultapner2769 ITV were the pioneers of proper daytime TV in the UK. In 1972 the government finally abolished the restrictions and limits on television hours which ensured ITV could provide a full daytime service. Filled with news, game shows, quiz shows, soaps, dramas, movies, imports and repeats of prime time dramas. Perfect balance. Now in 2023, ITV have abandoned that for wall to wall live studio based drivel from 6am to the lunchtime news, and then clog up the rest with one hour game shows.
@@johnking5174 ITV1 will bring back the 9:25am and 10:30am slot from Monday 3rd April.
@@ntvalt4361 Where did you get that information from?
I must admit Itv has never been the same since they removed its francises. Itv should bring back its francises and Tv_am.
I have read online the BBC are bring back Survivor. This program last aired on itv in 2001. For me that will give me a reason to watch the bbc
Most of us could not care less. So 5 rubbish programmes disappear. My only concern is that what fills the vacant slots will be even worse.
Nish Kumar lectures.
BBC seem to hate sitcoms now. They have very little comedy in their schedules, Ghosts being the gold nugget in their sitcom platform. Do you remember the BBC being the best place for sitcoms from the 60s until the 00s.
That is because of how PC and woke the broadcasters are becoming. Less and less are watching!
@@L1RW I laugh anytime someone calls the BBC “woke” as it’s not that “woke” as you like to think. They helped Boris Johnson (the right-wing MP) get into power and they lean on both sides. If you’re referring to seeing representation of minorities on screen, we’ve always been here.
@@tokublwhovian The BBC seem to get a roughly equal amount of criticism from extremists and moderates on both sides of the political/cultural divide, which I take as a sign they're probably getting it about right. Everyone's got a whole lot of crap to throw at them but nothing better to suggest - it's been like that for years and looks set to be like it for decades - round and round and round the polarisers go. Hilarious!
Sitcoms are the lower form of comedy, in general. Sketch shows are the higher.
Perhaps the sitcom has had its day and all that is good has been used up There are too many antiques and property shows. Too many auctiona! Going, going and should be GONE!
Cancelled? I am still waiting for the third series of Tripods?
When are the BBC going to make this?😮
The Tripods had a great theme tune.
@@suzannerichardson5092 had???? Past tense? ‘Has a great theme tune’.
@@suzannerichardson5092 yes; as a lover of electronic music and house. We had some amazing music in the 80’s.

That was the SECOND season of "I can hear your voice"? I must have missed the first, thank the what-ever-you-believe-in. I'm not a fan of all these talent and "reality" shows and will be glad to see the back of them all!
Hear-hear! Easy to consume 'junk food tv'. It's always existed to a degree but that's virtually all there is these days.
I've never even heard of it lol. I'm glad.
Bradley Walsh plays the roll more like a London wide boy than a country bumkin.
Now you can add' You've Been Framed ' to the list
If these shows have been cancelled now, I'm sure they will return in 2024.
God I hope not.
I don’t these shows (Except Faulty Towers) Are coming back for quite a long time
I’m so over reality shows, period. I want real tv back.
👏👏
They should’ve kept the Larkins and cancelled Love Island. Absolutely reality. TV has ruined television.
@@filmunion8194 Why would ITV cancel one of their most successful reality franchises of the past 10 years?
I'd cheerfully see things like 'love' Island axed as well. Dull and sends out a pretty naff message.
@@CITVPLUS
You have to admit it is hideous though.
Too bad they won't cancel eastenders
I Can See Your Voice was quite good fun. We enjoyed it. It suited Paddy's style unlike Question of Sport. The BBC need to admit they have messed up with the changes to QoS. It is dire, absolutely dire.
I want to be excited for Fawlty Towers because i love that show it never stops being funny but i don't think bringing it back would be right it won't be the same without Manuel, The Major, Sybil and Polly i'm worried how its going to go about it.
im sure they will make it work especially as John is in it he knows what the show is about and will be a big help to any new people that come into it
Less of Paddy McGuiness on TV can only ever be a good thing- a man of very little talent. As for the other shows- mostly 3rd rate offerings. The Larkins was of course a big budget show and that probably has made ITV cautious. The very idea of rebooting Fawlty Towers after 50 years is insanity and reeks of complete hubris from Cleese.
I’m guessing they cancelled Masked Dancer UK to focus more on Masked Singer UK along with the rugby world cup
And because The Masked Dancer is probably a million times harder than The Masked Singer.
And it was never going to beat Strictly in the ratings.
@@clarkejoseph49 Well joel dommett brings the judges to guess inside the mask of celebrity panel I think joey.

Why did you not also mention the now-cancelled Mock The Week? This was a gem - and there will always be news to pull apart. I am hoping that dave will bring in-house, seeing as they are showing repeats.
I loved Mock the Week but I'm afraid it got less and less funny.
All those shows with talentless supposed judges should be cancelled, supposed reality shows also.
Why feel sorry for Paddy? He's still rolling it in.
Money does not buy happiness it just makes you comfortable such is life
@@nickda1 He still has a career is what I'm saying regardless of having two shows imploding.
The chat show Mel and Sue needs to come back!
No tears lost over most of them especially the Masked Dancer. How the hell do you tell who someone is from the way they dance?
There is no way that modern present day television is as successful and entertaining, than what it was like in the older days. I personally think it’s time to look back on those programmes and watch streaming channels and Sky on-demand/Catch up and Netflix.
Roy Clarke is in his 90s. Who knows if he would have been able to write Season 7 of Still Open All Hours.
I'm sure i heard a series 7 had already been written. It certainly was commissioned, then Covid hit and delayed things for long enough that perhaps he didn't have the energy to write a full series anymore, and so they pulled the plug.
Apparently he had written more episodes back in 2020 /21 but nothing was filmed due to Covid.
@@markkaminski4496 That's a shame as it may well be his last work as a writer. He also wrote a sixth series of Keeping Up Appearances but Patricia Routledge didn't want to do anymore.
@@HalfbrickVHS A keen writer. Crazy how he wrote over 30 series of Last of the Summer Wine.
I can’t wait to see how they mess this up
With regard to Still Open All Hours, in addition to all the reasons given I'd say it might be to do with the writer's age as well. Roy Clarke is 93 now so for all we know he could be too unwell to write anymore or retired and I doubt the BBC would want to do anymore without him as he's written every episode, as well as every episode of the original series as well.
The woman who played Gladys Emmanuelle died too.
Six series is a reasonable run for a sitcom anyway.
I wasn't too keen on a reboot of Open All Hours especially without Ronnie Barker but I have grown to enjoy Still Open it's just that it's run it's course. Roy Clarke is very elderly, he's in charge of writing it and I don't think there's anyone else out there (who's still alive)anywhere as good as Roy who could carry on writing it.
Not to mention David Jason's quite frail now.
Was plans for more but yes covid no doubt had something to do with it.
Also the last broadcast episode ended with Granville proposing to Mavis, now it is left in the air, pity could not get at least a one off special.
The new Fawlty Towers will be cringe.
PC and woke too!

I'll dance down the street when the soaps finally get put out of their misery.
The "industry" has ran out of idea's, too much "wokeness" these days to make great shows and films that most of us grew up with and loved, but then that's the leftist approach these days.
This
What do you mean by “wokeness”, Stuart?
Will Question of Sport be axed too after ratings nosedived after Sue Barker was got rid of?
I cant watch it... its so crap now... rubbish hosts on all sides, the set looks awful too.
Radio 2 must be suffering with low numbers after all the successful DJs they have kicked out. Sarah Cox absolutely grates on me. Scott Mills makes me feel like I'm listening to Radio 1.
Agreed. Ugo Monye has absolutely NO character, whoever thought he would be a good team captain needs f*ing shooting.
Lets just face the undeniable facts here, traditional TV has been gradually declining and dying for the last 15 years or so. Because with technology changing with the use of RUclips, where you can watch anything you want at any time where as traditional TV doesn't do that as its on time slots. Streaming is another thing alot go for nowadays, that too puts aside many things TV has done. Plus social media has played a huge roll in most people's lives, many kids, teens and most adults are on their smartphones with Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok etc instead of watching traditional TV, which to them can be seen as old, outdated and boring. BBC, ITV and all other "old" channels need to see sense and accept that they are no longer as popular and relevant now than they were 30 to 40 years ago.
A Question of Sport is close to being cancelled. The new format has been a disaster.
And now You've Been Framed! has joined the list.
BBC is full of repeats along with the amount of cancelled licences mean less revenue and falling viewing figures. I defunded last year and I don’t miss live TV at all….
I cancelled my TV licence back in the summer of 2020. The whole 'BBC' concept seems archaic.
Itv
Wish they would cancel all the soaps along with Britain's Got Talent
Meanwhile in the USA, I Can See Your Voice is still going strong.
I've seen a thing saying if you want something on the TV just have to write a letter saying you want to see it.
I'm glad the Masked Dancer was axed. How can you guess someone from the dancing? The Masked Singer seemed a lot more suitable IMO. They should also bring back The X Factor, & Take Me Out
"Oh dear, how sad, never mind"
Aside from Cleese, who's going to be in a revived Fawlty Towers? Connie Booth and Prunella Scales are retired, and everyone else from the cast is dead.
Cancel Eastenders.
Yes, give me faulty towers. I hope it's as good as the old ones . Hope it comes out.

Steps Reunion was cancelled after two series!
As a kid growing up in the 90s Saturday night TV was pretty good
Dad's army repeats , stay tooned (anyone else remember?)
Generation game with Bruce Forsyth and Jim Davidson
Catchphrase
Gladiators
Noel's house party
And I know I'm missing some other classics but TV is crap these days, just rehash after rehash or dancing or singing shows
So I'd rather watch old episodes of the classics on RUclips on a Saturday evening
I’m actually surprised that that Open All Hours sequel got to series 6

I'm sad that the masked dancer is taking a break this year
Woah woah woah this is big news 😳 ❤️
Some comebacks don't work out if Fawlty Towers, ie Crossroads, Only Fools and Horses etc.
They also tried it with Minder... and that also sucked badly!
I really hope that I can see your voice hasn't been cancelled. I think it's a brilliant show, guessing which of the contestants can really sing and which are miming and cannot sing a note. Plus the banter between the judges, just good family fun.
I think the Reason why They Canceled These shows Is because There are Copyright To Other Shows
I am so Glad they are bringing Back Faulty Towers😃😃
Have you heard that BLACK ADDER is coming back without rowen Atkinson
Isn't that just for a comic relief special though? Regardless, you can't have black adder without... Edmund!
Its odd i dont watch many linear shows anymore. Perhaps Dragons Den and the apprentice on a Thursday and that's about it. So i dont think viewing figures are about what its up against. i bought the bluray box of father brown ( having seen a few on catchup) as bbc didnt have them on iplayer. I think its always better to stop a series before it goes downhill and leaving people wanting more. I mean Silent witness has now losts its sparkle, it survived alot of star changes...
Silent Witness went down hill when the two main characters became lovers. Totally ruined the show & chemistry between those two. It started out believable then it became fantasy. Forensics gather evidence and present it to the police to aid their presentation and/or aid their investigation. to CPS. The police can't tell forensics what to look for, they can ONLY ask what they've found and thats where forensic involvement ends.
With "Still Open All Hours" the problem might not be the 80 year old David Jason, but the 93 year old Roy Clarke (the writer) ?
One of the cast Lynda Baron (Nurse Gladys Emmanuel) died in 2022
Lynda baron has died it prob wont be the same without nurse gladys

The Jeremy Vine Show and Stephs Packed Lunch should go too. I don't think anyone watches either.
Totally agree... the singing in various formats is just getting boring, tiresome and just feels out of date and need new programming.
Sadly, the halfwits who run television these days have the imagination of a slug. They have about four or five templates, and every show conforms to one of them. It's getting like Hollywood where almost everything is some (worn out) franchise, and good movies outside those get buried in the hype.
Masked dancer is a bit daft - how can you tell who is in the costume from a dance! Could even be someone different each week ! Definitely a nothing programme!
I was a kid in the 70s when fawlty towers was on. We loved it. Im curious to see if they can pull it off now. Interesting to say the least
Remakes of such classics never work. Expect Woke box-ticking.
Probably all the money they waste on pointless new news studios-the 'new' BBC one looks just like the one in the late 2000's & is inferior to the one they have had for the last decade or so & these naff twerking on railway stations & skateboarding videos-to appeal to the the young audience that don't watch television.
I actually like I can see your voice, why would they be so stupid to cancel it??. they might as well just erase Saturday TV altogether 😒😑
Shame they can't bring back Jimmy fix it maybe hosted by esther rantzen
I think it is quite likely that the reboot of Fawlty Towers will be terrible. Let's face - most of the time that is true. It will sadly tarnish the legacy of that classic series.
I can see your voice being axed sucks, not because of the show itself but because of how FUNNY Alison and Jimmy's interactions are. They're hilarious with how they bounce off each other.
Alison 'token' Hammond?
Never heard of the Paddy Mcguiness shows. I did not mind the Larkins and enjoyed Still open all hours. Then again they seem to cancel evey program I like and keep all the reality TV crap on and awful soaps!
Fawlty Towers 40 plus years on. I think could be interesting. It was about a stereotypical English seaside hotel. If you are of a certain age, you probably stayed at one. There were bits of the show we had experienced. Going for dinner at the same time, rude staff, the bar not opening until a 6pm. Since then holidaying has changed. Most of us go abroad. A staycation maybe camping, holiday park etc. Seaside hotels have evolved. If the series is set in the past I believe will be a bad move. If it set in a 2023 version of the i hotel. With the a skilled writer, John Cleese, it could be good.
Those hotels still exist, maybe it’ll be Basil stuck in his ways when the rest of the world has moved on.
well it will not be in english the hotels will be fell of illegals
I watched an interview with John Cleese and I'm sure he said it's going to be set in the Caribbean.

Probably not *but* it’s most likely Because of The BBC’s recent Budget Cuts.

8:55-9:46 My family is huge fans of The Masked Singer. My parents and brother watch the American version with Nick Cannon o Disney-FOX every yesr and the mascot bootlegs are hilarious. this series is probably the first USA show in history to have two seasons be made every year instead of the typical one-season renewal.
They keep changing the rules up of the FOX version each year. Recently with the second half batch of episodes of the fourth season in September-November 2022, they tried some new tactics where multiple celebrities are kicked out elimination in every episode after just one week instead of just one costume as well as having each episode having a different topic (e,g. Comedy Roast, Hall of Fame, Andrew Lloyd Webber Tribute, Muppets, ABBA, DC Superheroes, Las Vegas, New York) and the costumed entertainment stars performing songs that would match the episode genre that week.
Survivor's been having 2 seasons each year for over 20 yaars.
So now we know who's to blame. Thanx for nothiung.
You can wach the America masked singer on itv2 every night Monday on itv2
Nick Cannon? An awful, ridiculous human being.
Who in the UK under 50 is still watching terrestrial tv in 2023? Lol
I'm fine to let all the terrestrial channels die and every show on them. They're not remotely vital to life.
The masked dancer is stupid. I'll say it. I'm a huge fan of the masked singer - it's basically "through the key hole" but with singing instead of a dreary walk around a millionaire's cotswalds cottage.
The masked dancer has clues and..... that's it. The joy of the masked singer is in recognising the voice and it ringing a bell but you can't really place it. The masked dancer doesn't have that - it's just.... people dancing in costumes, and you can only work it out with clues dropped in. It's pointless. The Masked Singer is a fantastic show, however.
I gave up with Still Open All Hours after the initial episode. It betrayed the character of the original series. In the original series Granville always wanted to modernise the shop, get rid of the old till and wasn't miserly with money like Arkwright. Also Mrs Featherstone found him weird and had no romantic interest in him, this was also reversed in the new series. Without Ronnie Barker it could never be the same, the original was a bonafide classic (I've got the box set) which I still laugh at. Ggggranville fetch your cloth and wipe away that inposter to the original!
I suppose the only thing you can say is that Granville never finally broke away and just gave up a little and also got his outlook poisoned somewhat by his duck's bum uncle.
Now that I read that back it's more like a Greek tragedy set oop north.
I thought Still Open all Hours wasn't a very good sequel series anyway. I don't really have high hopes for the Fawlty Towers reboot.
Loved 'I Can See Your Voice '. My guilty pleasure. Shame this has been cancelled.
This new Fawlty Towers is going to be interesting.......
Fawlty Towers required frenetic physical and mental energy which could only be a limited edition even when Cleese was in his 30s If he'd kept that up he would have been dead by 50 . A 2023 version is a non starter. In the States programme s get cancelled by ADVERTISERS and nothing to do with wokery

They always seem to cancel the most popular shows and keep all the crap!, i like "I can see your voice", it was different and entertaining, the BBC did the same with a previous music show, "All Together Now" which only lasted two series too, i thought "Still Open All Hours" had gone as there was no Christmas special last year and i guess there is only so far you can go with a sitcom, as for Fawlty Towers returning, it would never work as most of the original cast are no longer with us and they have tried this before with other shows using different actors and they just bomb!, they will never improve on the original, it's a true classic!
Pity. I liked Catchpoint. It suited Paddy as he was a trainer before presenting.
My dad loves the masked singer we can’t stand it but he loves it lol
Is the Larkins returning for season three or is it been cancelled last two seasons?
I think a third season has been filmed? Could be wrong though!
Better than the original Darling Buds of May, old enough to have seen both first broadcasts so Larkins will be cancelled?
Perhaps we can have more antiques, cookery or property programmes instead to fill in during breaks between sport marathons? Always boring waste of money
Not watching the new Fawlty Towers. Not going to be within spitting distance of the original.

It may be of interest the original exterior used for Fawty Towers has been demolished and replaced with modern housing - passed the site myself. The Larkins is a great shame as I was getting into it.
I do think you need to add ITV is closing CITV channel possibly August - sounds like they've taken several CBeebies shows and replacing it with a section on ITV X Streaming service.
