Dude, the only thing I was disappointed with this game, not being able to pull a Fire Emblem and be the wingman for the party, specially since some companions and NPCs have good chemistry (I’m torn between romancing Karlach as PC, as Wyll or pair her with Dammon if I could). Don’t get me wrong I love all romance options and how they develop, but I wish I could interact a bit more in that regard with the party. The protag can’t be the only one having fun after all. Also if Withers can roast my ass if I don’t have a lover, why can’t I watch him roast the rest of the party? 😂
It’s cute because there is unique wyll and karlach interactions if you play as wyll. Karlach will help you out and even give you pointers as to how to keep your horns clean and healthy 😭🤣
YES! yesyesyes finally! someone makes a Wyll with a rapier instead of shoving the giantslayer on him, or turning him into a blaster! i personally had been trying to use fighter for the longest time, but bard feels so much better!
@@user-mu8dm4rk7gthere isnt! i just personally dont like the aesthetics of it is all. stated in the video, wyll specifically has extra rapier prof innately, since neither being a human nor warlock would give him that normally, so it feels like thats the "lore accurate" weapon type for him. greatswords have a specific vibe to them, imo. giantslayer fits better to a fighter, pally, barb, etc then to warlock. if you wanna power game, go for it! i for one dont really have any interest in honor mode personally, so i just really want "looks cool and works well enough" and rapier wyll fits that perfectly. these past three origin builds have all fit that actually! ones im particularly excited for being shadowheart and laezel. if i may make suggestions, id really like to see trickery domain SH and Eldritch Knight Lae,
this is pretty much exactly the build i had Wyll on in my first playthrough and it's soooo good. being able to swap between dealing huge damage with weapons and providing strong support and utility off the back of the bard spell list makes this one of the most versatile builds in the game imo

Even as being somewhat of a "purist" regarding the given classes of the origin characters, giving Wyll bard levels is to me maybe the most fitting multiclass of them all - because, come on, he is dramatic, charismatic, speaking in metaphors and stories, he even dances and misses the court! I mean, how much more bardic can it get? 😅
Happy Holidays! I would also casually suggest that at level 5 you take Hunger of Hadar and swap Scorching Ray out for Fireball since you won't need both spells to get you through to level 6.
1. I LOVED this build. I was always trying to do a Paladin Warlock, but could never make it right on BG3 (after all, no Hexblade). This fits perfectly what I wanted. 2. I would seriously consider getting Armor of Agathys, for we would be a melee character and that REALLY helps out (you get more hit points than a barbarian plus the extra damage), and hunger of hadar (which works flawlessly with eldritch blast and control spells from other classes, like spike grow). Oh, and Glyph of Warding: Sleep is a MUST. It just works, and ignores enemies type or hitpoints. I cryied inside when I saw you didn't pick it 😂 3. Since patch 5, the warlock extra attack doesn't stack. So, I would probably stick with 3 W/ 9 B, or change to lore bard (5w/7b) 4. For equipment: helmet of arcane accuity, battlemage gloves, arcane synergy ring, ring of mystic scoundrel. Any necklace, armor and boots. Duelist Prerrogative as the weapon at the end, and any weapon up to that point (I would recommend the infernal rapier and Ketheric Shield until this weapon).
I'm way way late on this but I went 5 Blade/Fiend Warlock/ 5 Swords Bard and 2 Paladin. Against mobs I'd attack twice and cast control spells with Band of the Mystic Scoundrel/Helmet of Arcane Acuity and vs. bosses I'd use my level 3 spell slots on Smites to make up for the fact u only get 2 attacks. I loved this build for Wyll. I always try to do relatively lore friendly builds even if they aren't completely optimal. Even on HM
I never felt like fashion was the endgame in Bg3 until I started playing a bard... Now I'm furious because the early game stuff looks terrible. My favorite armor look has to be the Bhaalist Armor. Looks so cool!
While I understand that the idea of the build is versatility I would make a couple of adjustments. If you plan on going full on blaster with EB then I would go pact of the tome for the extra cantrips and spells (ESPECIALLY if you are using the 5e spells mod) and similarly I would not bother with any of the blaster invocations if you are going full on gish, with things like green flame blade and booming blade (from the afore mentioned mod) with a polearm Wyll is an absolute best of area denial when combined with sentinel and pole arm master, if you still want to go in with rapiers his options of mobility with darkness and devils sight and the afore mentioned cantrips almost feel like cheating. Edit: In tabletop pact of the tome allows you to take any classes cantrips as warlock cantrips which can get INCREDIBLY spicy.

Wyll in a version of the epilogue, where he went with Karlakh to Avernus becomes a Ranger, that's why I am very interested in building this combo, primarily leaving him with a rapier as his main weapon.
Yeah you can make that work. Ranger is actually a pretty good mmix with blade warlock in a similar manner to this build. You'd get 3 attacks if your took extra attack on both, you could go for Hunter for the damage bonus from colossus slayer, or go Gloom Stalker for some thematic synergy. Tell you what, an Archfey Warlock 7/Gloom Stalker Ranger 5 seems like a fun mix.
this is similar to the wyll build I have planned for my bard playthrough Except I use the hexblade mod and 5e spells so I can have cantrips like green flame blade. Planning to do 5 levels blade warlock, 5 levels valor bard for combat support, and 2 levels fighter for defense fighting style second wind and action surge. All in all a decent build though thanks for the effort you put in to make it.
I don’t know what your idea for your durge build is, but I feel like a sorlock (storm and great old one) fits really well, not sure how you would really build it but imagining Bhaal as a great old one patron just feels so cool.

I do quite like this for a build. I am in Act 1 with Wyll as my main so I am looking at how to build him at a later level. I think it might be worth while ignoring repelling blast and taking armour of shadows instead? I am playing Wyll as a die hard Simp for Myzora, I killed Karlach and got the awesome armour early in the game. Casting a free mage armour from Armour of shadows and also having Lae’zel buff me with +2AC from sword of justice, Wyll has 21 AC wearing cloth armour, he does have braces of defence so I could easily acquire a shield and pass those braces off to another character. Everything else you mentioned in this build is perfect so I think I will do a small respec at level 5 and go for pact of the blade instead.
your videos are absolutely helpful, Im new to the game, just want immersion and role play as myself, but I'm too lazy to make up build that work for other characters
I been trying to work out Wyll, just can’t get him right for my party but was thinking a bard warlock. I was also thinking fighter too. Still can’t work out him yet, maybe split him between all three. Or just more bard, he like does word games with Shadowheart

My stupid *ss was looking for the elegant studded leather for like 5 min just to realise my main character was wearing it. So I went with the bhaalist armor for the piercing vulnerable it adds to people in melee range (good for the rapier, idk how u get it i just use the mod that gives u all the loot at the start) Edit: i think it might be a reward from the dark urge origin storyline, dont know cause i ahven't played it yet.
Been loving these themed builds for the companions, are you also planning to go beyond origin companions such as Minthara or halsin? Would love to see what you’d come up with

No I left them out intentionally. I had them on during testing but forgot to take them off until the end of the video there. You don't actually get crossbow proficiency unless you respec to start Bard
Wyll is my favourite origin character to play next to laezel so this is great for me :) PS: looking forward to astarian as he’s typically the one I have the most trouble building
I gave up tryna get him to be playable in my party, he's useless at level 10 for me, no double attack, I did the darkness build where he has the Shar gear & attacks in shadows, having him & Gale who also don't get any double attack, made my Party stale, I'm better without magic attacks, had them with my created Ranger Rogue & Jaheira(she was the only bright spot outta the 3 companions), I got wiped out so easily. Went to my regular party & wiped out everybody in that fight so effortlessly & only one person went down through out multiple fights & that was from a critical. Having characters who can do multiple attacks that can take out many enemies before they can even attack you is the best defence.
Out of all the origin characters I would play Wyll, romancing Karlach specifically

If you also get the Potent Robes with Wyll your eldritch blast will be crazy

I'll have to admit that not only do we have the same armor but we've got it dyed the same as well.
I like to take lvl 1 bard. It delays the pact till 6. But it's nice to have more options for proficiencies if he isn't your main char.

Yeah I think it gets replaced with the Studded Leather +2 in the item pool in act 3. You kinda have to get it around act 1-2.
