- The meteoric rise of child prodigies almost always comes with a fall, but what happens after that? For Michelle Wie, the last few years have meant building a fulfilling life and letting go of the pressure of being the "next big thing." A refreshed outlook has resulted in her playing the best golf of her career with some of the limelight in the rear view. In this episode of Sitdowns, we caught up with the 27-year-old golf veteran to discuss the weirdest part of being famous at 13, listening to Migos on her off days, and her pride in being nerdy.

I'm glad to see her so chill.
She came on the golf scene so young and had enormous pressure on her to succeed. A bit much for a kid, and it couldn't have been easy.
It's been about 10 years since I've seen her last interview. She has really matured into a well rounded lovely person.
Anyone who plays a sport, especially golf, the mental and psychological aspect is a huge determining factor in success at a high level. Extremely young professional athletes anointed as the next great thing have tremendous stress and expectations only magnified 1000 times with a constant barrage of media.....with that being said....I applaud her strength to find peace. Every single person who understands the game knows that without your head on straight one cannot play well. I think it's unreal for people to expect dominance in golf on the PGA and the LPGA. The game has evolved so much and the talent level is so much deeper now. Hopefully she can get on a roll and string some wins together. Maybe hits Major or two. Everyone wants her to win. She's a big name that helps the LPGA tour when she's in the news.

I had a huge crush on her back in my high school days. our travel soccer team got to help out at a WPGA and I remember she was the only one of the golfers who said hi to me and few teammates she seems really nice and extremely smart

Michelle went through a lot of unnecessary BS when she was younger, thanks to the people around her who placed way too much expectations on her. I'm glad it looks like shes adjusted well throughout the years and has turned into a beautiful and talented golfer!

I feel the same way about Lorena Ochoa. She retired at no. 1 in the world but who knows how much more she could have accomplished if she stayed in the game.

Yeah, I guess having millions of dollars from sponsorships and wins really equates to having no direction in your life.
I think she means it in a more literal way. As in like, "I'm hitting a ball with a club torquing my body at speeds of 110 mph to possibly win millions of dollars, as people, worldwide, are watching me. What am I doing?"
