Wow, I have never heard of that portable system before. It looks pretty cool. I mainly focus on GameBoy and such for handhelds. But I do have a huge collection of vintage handhelds from the 70's and into the 90's. Including Tiger, Mattel, Coleco, Tomy, Akklaim, Radio Shack, as well as Nintendo Game & Watches. Well you get the picture. lol

I really love your videos. You touch on some stuff that isn't usually talked about, and your collection is incredible. I don't collect beyond the 90's other than Nintendo, and I don't do complete collections because I mostly go for stuff that I love/loved to play an will return to. It's great to see stuff that I wouldn't normally go for. And, who knows? If I could get more storage space, I might. Thanks for taking the time to do these!

I received one of these for Christmas when it was new. I think I was 15 or 16, and I loved it, even though the only game I had was the Blockbuster clone it was packed with. Thank you for bringing back a great memory!

We were watching Friday the 13th Part 2 and they had two of these.
I asked my family, "Why do they have two? I think those things had changeable games."
Then I came here to check it out.
The last time I'd seen one was at a department store when they were new, so I was pretty impressed that I'd remembered that detail all these years later.
    Thanks for the video.

I'm actually planning a big full-fledged review of the Microvision and its complete library. It's my first complete collection, so of course I want to go into detail about it. I'm really excited about making the video. Seeing this reminds me I should get to work on it.

I love the way you go through all of the inserts and minutiae of what was originally included in the box. Personally, I try to save everything like that when I buy most anything and it is fun to go back and look at it. Keep up the good work in your videos!

Glad yours still works after all these years. I had two duds back in the day. In both cases, they both died (nothing on the screen) within about a week. As a 9 or 10 yr old I was crushed to say the least!

A British youtube channel had listed this as 5 consoles that are slowly rotting away.
To see an old device like that still in working order is somewhat of a miracle.
I was born In the 90s, but one would be suprised, maybe even flabbergasted, just how old electronics could still work.
I like your videos. They show some of the historical landmarks in consumer electronics, and the days before modern gaming.
Modern gaming just got worse because of the DLC, sloppy console releases, and other things that make people want to shy away from modern gaming and go the route of retro.
    Keep up the good work.

I really enjoy watching the 'Does it still work?' videos you make, and you're 100% right, these types of videos are something that very few people can produce and you are uniquely qualified to do so! Thank you for sharing this with us John, it's not something I had seen in any detail before as the Microvision system itself is older than me by at least a few years; it's an interesting handheld device which must have been fantastic for its time.
I have a few Nintendo Game & Watch units, some from my childhood which were bought second-hand and others which were acquired more recently so if you are planning on making any new videos on Game & Watch units then I would definitely be interested in that but I have been enjoying watching your videos regardless as they are all very interesting.
Looking back it seems I've been watching your videos for just over six months now ever since your "Holy Grail Game Donated, Video Game Space Issues" video so it's amazing to see just how far you've come in that short space of time with your new expansion but I look forward to delving into some of your older videos when I have more time.
I just felt like taking some time out of my day to say "Thanks" for all the content you create, it's inspirational and I hope to make my own videos some day; when that hopefully happens I will be sure to preserve anything in my collection which might be a little bit odd or rare because though I've only been collecting for probably less than half the time that you have, it's possible I might find something worth sharing at some point in the future.
Anyway, take care and I look forward to continuing to support your channel.

It's funny to think that this was around about 30 years ago. In 30 years time from now a modern PC and PS4 will look just as primitive.

    • @ItsJustMilkISwear
      @ItsJustMilkISwear 5 лет назад

that's why its good to buy stuff like PS3 games right now while they're $4 each at every pawn shop.
VHS too, they sell them at 5 for $1 at my goodwill. in 30 years they might be $20 each. it's not like anyone is making new VHS tapes.

It made some sounds but no graphics came up at all even after adjusting the knob on the back. It does have the star trek licensed phaser strike game as well as pinball in the box with it but it's just a conversation piece for me right now.
