In this video we will be comparing the top recommended variant of Kia Sonet with manual transmission with the closely priced variant of Tata Nexon. Kia Sonet HTK(O) 1.2 MT is priced at Rs. 9.25 Lakh and Tata Nexon Smart+S 1.2 MT is priced at Rs. 9.40 Lakh. The prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
This video compares the Value and Cost-Effectiveness of cars over time. It considers the on-road price, fuel cost, maintenance cost, size, performance, and unique features.
Sonet’s 1.2-Litre naturally aspirated petrol engine makes 83PS of maximum power & 115Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, Nexon is available with a 1.2-Litre turbo petrol engine that makes 120PS of maximum power and 170Nm of peak torque.
The 2024 Sonet is 3995 mm long, 1790mm wide and 1642mm tall. The Sonet has a 2500mm long wheelbase. In comparison, the 2024 Nexon is 3995mm long, 1804mm wide and 1620mm tall. The Nexon has a 2498mm long wheelbase.
Bigger exterior dimensions give a car a stronger road presence. A long wheelbase makes the car more stable at high speeds and gives better legroom in the back seat, while a shorter wheelbase makes the car more agile.

Nexon service is for 15K km while sonet is 10K km. Apart from this, drive quality feels better in Nexon because of weight. Feels like it's stick to road.

Tata spent so much on R&D to give us excellent product options like Altroz Racer, Punch, Nexon, Harrier, Safari and that too across all fuel options (petrol, diesel, CNG and EV). But their poor QC and much poorer after-sales is a big disappointment.
Engine is also not refined

HTK(O) is good if it's diesel. Petrol variant is very underpowered. It runs the same engine a Hyundai i10 Nios.

Your last segment for safety and service coverage are enough to offset the 67k deficit on other values and make Tata Nexon the clear winner

@@rishabhsahu219 I used a Nexon for 4 years and sold it due to issues faced, so I can't be called a Tata fanboy. From my own experience, I can say that the Sonet offers a better overall package. However, that doesn't mean you should ignore its safety aspect, especially since the Sonet hasn't been tested by any crash testing organization yet. Seems like you are typical Kia fanboy…..😀

Out of these 2 Brezza anyday because while driving both the cars, you will also notice that you get the feeling of driving a SUV only in brezza, whereas Sonet is very compact from inside with poor headroom. However, brezza doesnt offer any good feature, which is why I removed both the cars from my option list, and now considering xuv 3xo, which is the best combination for both
