    Hi sir the only problem here is though more than half Americans qualifying for Medicare have to go on Medicare Advantage and it's not a choice more then an only option as with original Medicare it is financially out of reach for the low income as you have to buy not only a supplement but also a part D drug plan and most just cant afford and and theres no financial assistance with Original Medicare like there is with an advantage so it is last resort for most

      Two reasons to use Medicare Advantage are if one can't afford the Medigap and Part D. My Plan N plus Part D is just under $100 a month and my wife's is less than $90 a month. Another reason is if one is a veteran using only VA healthcare. There are special MA plans for veterans that can rebate part of the Medicare B costs.

    Some seniors sign up for Medicare Advantage thinking it is original Medicare. They find out they don’t have original Medicare when they get seriously injured or sick and their Medicare Advantage plan refuses to pay for necessary treatment like a stay in rehab. Seniors are being sent straight home after surgery for a broken hip because their MA plan refuses to pay for them to go to a rehab hospital.

      Thank you for sharing your experience with Medicare Advantage, it's an important point to consider. It's crucial for Medicare beneficiaries to understand the differences between original Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans. While Medicare Advantage plans often provide additional benefits, they may also have limitations and restrictions on coverage compared to original Medicare. It's always a good idea to thoroughly review the terms and conditions of any plan you are considering to ensure it aligns with your healthcare needs and preferences. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to reach out.

    I know I sound like a broken record, but I have to correct everyone who uses the phrase "Medicare Part C". Medicare Advantage is not Medicare Part C. There is no part C to Medicare. Saying "Medicare Part C" makes people think that it is part of Medicare.
    Medicare Advantage is "sometimes known as" part C, especially by healthcare corporations that want to deceive people into thinking it is part of Medicare.
    Your first choice regarding Medicare when you turn 65 is whether you're going to choose Medicare or choose a corporate-run Advantage plan, "sometimes known as" part C.

    I respect that you don’t sell Medicare Advantage, but as someone who does both I can assure Med Supps don’t make sense for everyone just the same as MA doesn’t make sense for everyone. It’s not our job to control the narrative of someone’s health care, it’s our job to educate and enroll and no one’s needs are the same 🤷🏼‍♂️

      Thank you for sharing your perspective. It's important to acknowledge that Medicare can be a complex topic with various options and costs associated with it. While it's true that certain Medicare plans may come with additional expenses, such as premiums and deductibles, there are also options available to help lower-income individuals access affordable healthcare. It's always advisable for individuals to explore and understand their options based on their unique circumstances, so they can make informed choices that best suit their needs and financial situation.

      What you think is offered by a government paid advantage plan is more expensive in the long run. Anything the government “gives” you comes at a cost. It comes from higher taxes and increases inflation. That’s why groceries, rent and other necessities are through the roof. Traditional Medicare is still a good deal compared to what people that aren’t receiving Medicare pay for insurance.

      Advantage plans may look desirable at first but being unable to get off of them later on can come back to bite you in the end. Many independent agents will tell you the same thing. They aren't scare tactics. They are real life experiences from their clients. Make an informed decision.

      I think a lot of these pro Advantage comments are coming from Shills for the corporate Healthcare system.
      Advantage members are limited to just the doctors in their network; they must get prior authorizations from their Advantage plan; their Advantage plans can and do deny and delay their care; the annual costs of Advantage plans outpace Medicare plans more often than not.
      Watch videos comparing the costs. And watch videos describing denial and delay tactics used by healthcare corporations against their members. Then decide which risk you're more comfortable with.

    Scare tactics, Medicare advantage helps a bunch of people who can’t afford to pay 200 to 300 a month for a supplement. Also advantage plans usually have dental vision otc hearing some even include a food card.
    If you can afford the extra money then so be it but that’s not the case for so many seniors.

    • @zelenia99
      @zelenia99 9 месяцев назад +1

      Exactly! I like how they never talks about the cost of MedSupp, Part D alone is expensive. Medications are higher and have a premium and deductible than Medicare Advantage.

    • @rhondawinder1255
      @rhondawinder1255 9 месяцев назад +3

      Agree! There's a couple of implications that are mentioned here that are a little bit misleading too. For instance, the scare tactic about having to go to an out of network provider and being stuck with a huge bill if the provider wasn't under contract with the Medicare Advantage plan. It does happen, I'm sure, but I don't think its as widespread as he would have us believe. After working in healthcare for many years, I don't know of one doctors office that wouldn't work with a patient on their balance, plus, even coinsurance and deductibles with MA's are capped. MA plans, by law, give you everything Original Medicare provides, but they're allowed to offer more. It is also mentioned in this video that he doesn't know why Medicare pays the MA plans so much money, PPPM (per patient per month). Well it was the the Social Security Act that required the MA's to use Risk Adjustment for payment. Basically MA's are paid a certain amount each month for each enrollee. If an enrollee is really sick, (determined by diagnosis codes, which are scrupulously examined for truth and necessity) they lose money. If the patient is relatively healthy, they make money. This guy is sort of straight, but sort of misleading.

    • @TC-fx5zu
      @TC-fx5zu 8 месяцев назад

      Medicare Advantage seems like a good deal until you get seriously injured or sick and they refuse to pay for necessary treatment. I work with seniors and have heard quite a few horror stories like Medicare Advantage refusing to pay for them to go to a rehab hospital after hip surgery. Imagine being 80 or 90 years old and being sent straight home after surgery for a broken hip because your insurance refuses to pay for you to go to a rehab hospital. The Medicare Advantage ads are very misleading because a lot of seniors think it’s actual Medicare from the government. Insurance companies shouldn’t be allowed to sell plans with Medicare as part of the name because it is NOT Medicare and seniors are being duped.

    As noted in the video, Medicare pays private advantage plans on a per capita basis (so much per head). Doesn't this create a built-in incentive for advantage plan plans to ration and skimp on care? What the plans don't spend on care increases their bottom lines. This is directly antithetical to the interest of the healthcare consumer, or so it seems to me. The plans will no doubt respond that their ethics always place the patient/insured first, but I would place more weight on the financial incentives that are present. Follow the money.

      Are you sure?? Once you go to Medicare Part A and Part B and have a Supplemental Health Plan ▬ you can go to any Doctor who accepts Medicare. Medicare will pay 80% and your Supplemental Insurance will pay the rest (make sure your Supplemental Insurance waives any deductibles and includes Medicare Part D). Then your co-pays and deductibles are ZERO. Find the lowest priced "G" plan that waives the deductibles and you have ZERO co-pays for Physicians (you may have a nominal co-pay for Prescriptions). It doesn't matter if the Supplemental Insurance has a network, they will follow along and cover anything after Medicare pays. I have no idea if your Kaiser Physicians take Medicare but it may behoove you to find out.
