Sometimes its much easier for people to talk about potential and how you could build it up, because actually focusing on the status quo and having a constructive reflection, is a conversation very little people are ready to have! (I am people, really have to work on that tbh) Ps. Amazing and very inspirational video, I just discovered you right now. Keep up the good work! 🙌
Ahh I watched the whole video and this is extremely (and scarily) relatable. Especially the part where you just lay down and stare at the ceiling 😭 I take science based subjects partly because of I was blinded by my ego and the toxicity of "potential". This video just basically sums up what I'm currently facing. And honestly another thing that I think contributes a lot to this is those 20 minutes motivational videos (or even from real people). I'm not saying they're inherently bad or not motivational just because I don't get it, it's just that they picture mediocrity as something bad. But that's the problem, you have to BE mediocre before you become the best. I used to watch them and I remember this quote, "Be allergic to being mediocre." And so I just did nothing.. Highlights : 11:00 , 18:12 , 28:21, 35:19 Also I just wanted to say that I discovered your video through yt reccomendations and your commentary is structured really well. Don't pressure yourself too much on the set up or editing bcs personally, after awhile I just listen to the videos like a podcast instead of watching it.
Thank you for this, means a lot. Can relate to picking certain subjects for ego and potential... And spot on about the motivational content. It just monetises the manipulation of short-lived, strong emotions, but fails to teach a single thing about the actual reality of long-term goal achievement (and maintenance!), as well as the radical self-acceptance needed throughout this chaotic journey
OMG same I've always wanted to make an animation channel but felt like my art skills weren't good enough compared to other channels....I love art i shouldn't abandon that passion just because I'm scared
exactly, just pretend to be a kid at first, make super simple animations, laugh at the silly mistakes, have fun with it and take pride in witnessing the grind and the slow but steady progress
27:35 I really enjoy these kind of videos, the visuals don't matter that much, as i prefer to listen to the monolog rather than truthly watching the video. The sound is good and that's what matters for me. I really loved the topic. Thanks for the video!
Sounds like the illuminated me speaking. It's not been a month since I knew this Indian Dr and found out my problem... Biggest problem though I'm almost 36.
