This looks pretty simple. This means you can run balanced cables like one with a 4.4mm or 2.5mm connector right? Wonder how much that would change stuff
@@dillacorn_linux i guess it's at least good for changing connector type based on what equipment you have... like maybe you plug it into you amp via 4.4mm cable but when you want to take them with you somewhere you plug them into your portable dap or dac amp via 2.5mm or 3.5mm
Depends how you do it. If you put in the epoxy and let it cure while the halves are apart, you can install and remove them afterwards. However, I suspect that it's much weaker this way as I've had the epoxy on mine fail twice (although I can't be certain because I didn't use epoxy putty, so that may have been the problem). I'm going to just permanently fix them in place this time. I probably won't report back here for the results, but I don't think it'll fail again.
brah, if you have time and have the item... can you consider do video about recable/detacable mod for iem bluetooth module... like kz aptx bluetooth module... the cable is just... ugh
We have done both a recable and detachable mod on modules before but I have yet to do a video on it, incidentally I do have the kz aptx wire lying around
For starters it's the link below, will only be able to add the specific models end of the month or mid next month sgaudiohive.com/collections/services/products/headphone-detachable-mods?variant=28890967441488
I thought it strange to put so much effort to mod a pair of headphones that are this price point but then I remembered that car people will put all kinds of parts on their old hooptie.
Thank you so much for the kind comments! Will try to work on the workstation and do some grooming and clean-up before filming next time. Unfortunately I have to keep my nails long for work purpose and we work on the same desk we film for 10-16 hours a day so we can't really keep them clean all the time, but will do some adjustments so that we only film on days after we do our weekly cleaning
@@sgaudiohive No brother im not talking about your nails, What i ment about working Clean ( Example : When you used the grinder you did not clean up the plastic pieces off of the covers just closed them back up)
😂😂 thank you for clarifying, even though I speak in something that sounds like English, I'm not very educated in the language thus the confusion. Understand about that part now, we usually do the cleaning off camera or once we are done and closing up, but this is my personal set and I needed to open it for another video which I flimed right after the resin hardened. Thanks for pointing that out!
Idk that filming it naked was necessary but the video was very useful!
You make it look sooooooo easy!!!
I'm thinking of maybe doing this mod to my Grados. Thanks for making this video!
Great use of bluetac. I wish i could solder like that.

Yes, but wouldn't change a thing.

Balance = higher power with lesser distortion, but for a portable headphone it probably will have just a slight improvement
nice tutorial bro..just one question, if i use 4.4mm to mmcx cable for these modded kph..did it support balance audio? im newbie.
Yes, it does support balanced wires after modding
MAN. You are DOPE!
So is the positive cable the left/right audio, and the negative cable the ground? Or is it the other way around?
The first one
Man this was a brilliant late night find - I can't wait to do this to mine. By the way, is that a giant gob of blu-tack? Cheers!
Thank you!
Glad to be of help!
Thank you for the tutorial my friend
Will there also be a video for 2 pin? 😃
Can we still take out the cover/drivers or does the epoxy prevent it ?

will keep this in mind when i break my cable
If buying pre-soldered mmcx connectors is cheaper, should i do it? Or should i buy pack of 100pcs of wires and pack of 10pcs mmcx connectors?
Just go with whatever cheaper mate. The presoldered ones are pretty beefy wires too which is good
What temperature do you have your soldering iron at?
usually 250-350 deg celcius
If I do this can use mmcx to balanced 2.5 or 4.4 connectors or is there more modifications needed?
no additional modification is required as a dual side Mmcx mod will make the headphone balanced capable
You have 20mm or 40mm cable there?
can you mod Rock Zircon into mmcx detachable cable ?
I do have a set of rock zircon lying around I can do up a video

I love you too

Very talented. video would be more brilliant if you just worked cleaner, little details matter

some sharp ass nails!
but excellent mod!
Well those nails are part of my tools..
you should clean your working place some time - really dirty job.
Unfortunately I'm working 18-20hours a day on the same desk so it's not possible to change mats everyday..
