He was hitting over 300 this month until this game. Dude made this team watchable for 5 years carrying 80% of the offense for most of his career and has the record for the most game

Ottavino should only come if the Mets are up by 15 runs. Mendoza either needs to run the starters longer or bring someone up from the minors. Cause Ottovino should not be an option.

I think this year they gave him the nod just to get him in the derby again. Nimmo or Lindor were the correct answer for the mets
It wasn't just to get him. PeteAlonso publicly stated that if he's not an all star he won't participate in the home run derby. MLB is pathetic for what it's done.

yea i don’t really blame mendoza honestly i was mad at him for pulling christian scott the other days but after hearing their reasoning and that he was on a pitch count it actually made sense
