    Every time I call your shop regarding questions on materials no one ever answers! I have purchased materials from 15 different fly shops over the years all over the country and everyone of them answer the phone! I don’t wanna talk to a machine, I wanna talk to a real person! I love everything about you guys your channel and your shop except for that one thing!

      We completely understand. We make every effort to pick up but we only have so many people to take calls. Trust me it’s pretty complicated keeping a balance of good service and keeping costs low.

      It’s probably because guys like me make the 90 minute drive to the shop and ask 387 questions. Trust me, the shop is so damn amazing you can’t help but bother the staff. Squatch the shop dog is sweet, but gives shady fishing tips.

    Overall a great system both for desk organising and for transporting a mobile travel system. It offers protection and systemic organisation. You know where whatever tool, spool of thread, box of hooks, pot of resin is. With at a glance you know just how much of that material you have left. Good tool, stock care and discipline will save time and money. Here in the UK we have some good systems available. Yours hands down more than matches the best we have. It is clearly one of the best adaptable set ups on the market. Designed for and by skilled people who know what works. Rather what they think we might buy.

      @@FlyFishFood you hit every target with this one including the hanging system with the magnet and foam combination. The work and time spent getting it off the ground and finding the right people to build and supply them. A job well done.

    I think $60 is a little bit too much for some Lazer cut foam, and some plastic spacers, in my opinion. I like the idea though.

      1- imagine how much wood or metal would cost.
      2- a laser cutter probably isn’t very cheap.

      @oak8728 Год назад

      @@FlyFishFood sometimes the goal is not to recoup the cost of your laser cutter in 10 orders 😆 that’s called greedy accounting if your point 2 is true

      @popej1able Год назад

      @@FlyFishFood For sure, I definitely like a lot of the design ideas! Wasn’t trying to knock the product by all means. The spool holder needs work. I use a sewing thread rack, you don’t have to double stack them. You can get some that hold up to 60 spools. Not saying I wouldn’t consider buying one in future either.

    I think several people here are missing the point regarding the need for, and the cost of, this new organization and storage system. If you would become a more productive tier because you waste a lot of time and effort hunting for your tools and supplies, this system could be right for you. If you could tie two dozen flies per hour instead of one dozen then this system might make sense. If you are not worried about the cost and would like to be better organized this system may be just what you're looking for.
    If this system is above your pay grade right now - then don't criticize it - just move on. Some DIYers will see ideas in this video that they can duplicate on their own.
    Many, many years ago I decided to make the jump from my Thompson A vise (everyone at the time was tying with the Thompson or the Sunrise AA) to the new HMH vise with a rotary feature, a heavy pedestal base, and interchangeable jaws. The price seemed unusually high considering my Thompson was still performing well. But I took the plunge and I still tie with my HMH today, decades later, and it has increased my tying speed, accuracy, and productivity substantially.
    The target market for specialty products is rarely "everyone." If this new organization and storage system is not right for you . . . just step aside and let those it was designed for enjoy their purchase.

    Hey Cheech, do you apply labels to your little bead and hook containers? I have these now and write on them with a sharpie, but wondering if you've got a cleaner looking solution. thanks!

    • @FlyFishFood

      Sharpie is the best. Hand sanitizer wipes it off and you have a fresh slate again.

    My desk is a mess and I don't care because the flies I tie catch fish and lots of them. Big ones, too. I do believe that is the important thing. OCD is ok I guess, but not for me. Organization is only useful if the end result is obtained. You can be extremely organized, neat ,clean and still be futile in your quest,. The object is to catch fish, not extreme hoo-hah in your tying. Get real.
