Is Taormina worth it? Or is it just an overhyped, overtouristed and expensive place is Sicily?

After a delayed train ride from Milazzo and Messina, Gus and Gabriel arrive Taormina under bad weather conditions. The first impression is that the series White Lotus gave too much fame to Taormina and that it will be hard to live to all the expectations.
However, once the rain stops and the sun is out, Gus and Gabriel take the funicular up to the center to go visit the Teatro Antico of Magna Grecia and they are mesmerized by the beauty of all sites around. Taormina is busy but there seems to be room for all in this magical Sicilian town
They visit the Botanical Garden and later walk back down to Mazzaro, where their hotel, The Baia Azzurra is located. In the morning, a beautiful sunrise makes Gus emotional and the two head to Isola Bella for a last swim before before departing Sicily.
