I'm on the newest version of PowerBi, I dragged Region Name and Sales Volume into my table, but its not summarizing the data, its listing the region over and over and over with the volume next to each row.?? I don't have the Sum or Average options.

So what’s the point of summarize. You just can do everything with just the basic report view by checking the required criteria. Please explain? I see a lot of measures not very useful as they pretty much do the same as the report view stuff.
Sometime you need a table which is only involved for that calculation , often summary is used for granularity purpose when you don't want further drills of your calculation
I think he does not know too much about data modeling and DAX: A 3NF data model instead of star schema… Teaching implicit measures instead of (only) explicit measures… then I stopped after 2 minutes…

Can I calculate count instead of sum
i grouped my values by year and month, but they appear as text value.. i cant convert it to date. any idea?
