This is my First comment always thought you were out of my league. Really enjoy your recent builds and everyone always thought I was crazy thinning mud and resin. I built medic units for a old timer and he Was A one coat wonder. He Could Flow the material out like nobody's business. Saved me thousands of hours sanding over my career. Same techniques you use Old School. Thank you for teaching Aiden when we are gone these young bucks need to carry on the Tradition..oh yeah I can see why the Misses could distract you. Focus Chad focus.! Love you guys.
I am really enjoying these builds. I still am involved, and quite aggressive for 78 years old. How about them apples !!! Love all you guy's (and gals) we are family. Lol
I used to own a 1936 Hupmobile. They used an engine made by Continental. How much of the design was by Hup and how much by Continental I don't know, but they did have a high nickel block - notice the lettering on the left side of the block. Firing order 1 5 3 6 2 4 electric system 6V + ground. Will turn over and start on 12V just don't grind and grind the starter or you could burn it out.
Dealing with the same issue on a 1957 Buick Wagon today! Can’t get the 364 Nailhead to start (been parked since 1972). What are the odds… I worked on it almost all day and then come in to watch your channel and you’re working on something similar! Hope you got it running. Tomorrow is another day for me!
Almost running but no gas, that's a pain in the ass. I think as soon as you have a gas supply you will get it running it's a 1934 Hupmobile flathead 6 you can tell it wants to Chad will get the flathead going. Thanks Mark Dutka
Yeah it’s really nice to see Chad have a friend that will help. Not really a fan of sand blasting spark plugs. Can’t wait to hear that old flathead make some noise
This is going to be a really cool race car. What a great duo with the truck and the race car. You got a bunch of exciting projects in the hopper. Keep up the great work.
That old’ Hup engine was really wanting to fire, while your picking up some more gas I would get some new plugs, a mechanics remote starter switch and a new coil should be good to go, see you tomorrow 👍
You need to set up a small tank and hook it up to the card so it can get gas pumping. Just pouring gas down the card isn’t going to work unless you have more to follow it up
really love the show chad like def have learned alot from you man and i just want to say thank you for makeing these shows to be able to learn from,, like its def a inspiratehion man just as much as you are brother from another mother
Ha chad sick today your and Jolene video brought my sprite up little bit today never seen a flat 6 before glad I got to see one even do its online thank you for the little confront I had today this going to be a beautiful ride but everything you make is and hope this ant what I think this is and I can watch more bless you two for making my day
Great filming job ...again. Compared to many sites. Only possible through careful panning by Jolene. Reminds me of starting a 6 cylinder 1940's Chevrolet Pickup engine lying on its side in a junk yard in 1961.
Usually you are on the ball but it looked like a real mess today. I can't believe you didn't have at least 2 cans of starting fluid along with gas. A new set of plugs would have been handy also. The engine wants to start, it needs more fuel.
Went to the dollar store and picked up 2 bags of potato chips, sit back and watch the show, love watching Chad do what most people think is the impossible, 5 Star rating ,,Chad & Jolene
Burning a lot of video time looking for tools and everything else. Prepared is never a priority. Chad is a fast worker and a slow helper. Cluttersville. NO GAS? hard to watch a pro builder be so scatter brained. WOW!
Nice to meet "Downtown John". Thanks for sharing the inner workings of another build. Thank You Jolene for your production. It takes us as if were right there.
Yes Chad. If she turns over and had compression and fuel, by gosh she will fire. Great to have a little experienced help in the mix too. Hats off to you for keeping the old girls running. Show them a little love and they will start.
Close but no cigar! Hope you guys get it running, sounds like a good engine, maybe just the spark plug wires need double checked for right firing order. Anyways, good luck getting it out of gear.
I got a chuckle when you started opening the drawers of your toolbox… It’s like my toolbox and probably 90% of every one out there....disorganized chaos!
Something that always helps me start an old engine is (if you can) pre fill the float bowl with fuel through the vent opening then it should run for up to 30 seconds in some cases if the fuel pump is not yet pulling fuel from the source. One of the tricks i learned. lol.
The frame with the 6 saves time so why not use it . I get it but I agree with Jolene that the 8 would be a better choice . I understand your logic Chad and with the frame already bolted to the 6 makes good sense 👏👍 so let's get it running. Thumbs-up Jolene 👍and 👍Chad
Oh she will run...little bit of juiceleeeen and she go go go...downtown john...gave him a nickname...cool...exciting trying to get her to run..great episode...see you guys tomorrow...thank Chad and Jolene and downtown John and Fina girl
Are you sure the firing order is correct? Thanks for sharing your passion. Glad you said it was a 1/4 mile car. I was thinking dirt track. Keep it coming. Thanks, Steve in Texas
The engine won't run on air. You need a gas supply. It's trying it's best to start and will only run for a second on the fuel you're pouring in the carb. You need to keep a supply trickling in the carb. My 2 cents.
Keep pumping that carb, it's got to go, haha. Chad get you a small bottle to pour from, or a backfire is gona get exciting. I know, and more than once, Haha. Great Show, wanted to hear it pure, now got to come back to see it! 👍

Cant wait to see it running love this build thank you for teaching us
Something about starting up an old engine that hasn't been running for years, that never seems to get old.
Very excited to see you go with the Hupmobile! The COE and racecar being built for fun, this is a fun choice for the engine!!
Almost running but no gas, that's a pain in the ass. I think as soon as you have a gas supply you will get it running it's a 1934 Hupmobile flathead 6 you can tell it wants to Chad will get the flathead going. Thanks Mark Dutka
Glad John is there to help out....But I miss seeing Doug. Hope all is well.
amazing how old engines will fire up after so many years of setting. thanks for sharing
Finally a mechanical friend. Right on
Yeah it’s really nice to see Chad have a friend that will help. Not really a fan of sand blasting spark plugs. Can’t wait to hear that old flathead make some noise
That’s a cool old motor. Love the crossed screwdriver trick 🤣👍
This is going to be a really cool race car. What a great duo with the truck and the race car. You got a bunch of exciting projects in the hopper. Keep up the great work.
Man I can’t wait to hear that flathead purr!! This is exciting it’s all coming along quickly thanks for sharing Chad and Jolene
You'll get it running for sure!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the great work!
Love seeing old cars being saved. You are definitely making a work of art.
Nothing more rewarding than hearing it fire up after years sitting. Enjoying from Valdez, Alaska
Great seeing the guest appearances by the old timers on the channel...so.much experience and knowledge to benefit from.
Thanks for all you do. Never heard a flat head motor. Thanks Chad and Jolene ❤❤❤❤❤😎😎😎😎
That old’ Hup engine was really wanting to fire, while your picking up some more gas I would get some new plugs, a mechanics remote starter switch and a new coil should be good to go, see you tomorrow 👍
A set of jumper cables would have helped. Don't have any??
I want 30 minutes of my life Back
Chad has the type of videos where you can just sit back with a bowl of popcorn and enjoy the show
You need to set up a small tank and hook it up to the card so it can get gas pumping. Just pouring gas down the card isn’t going to work unless you have more to follow it up
How's Doug doing, will he be making appearance soon.?
They never answer this question
@@robertnauss4815 thus the reason l had asked.

Almost got her running!
I love that, ‘what could go wrong’ 😂😂😂😂
Looks like tonight's video will be interesting! Anxious to hear the engine run. Always a fun night with you both.
Great filming job ...again. Compared to many sites. Only possible through careful panning by Jolene. Reminds me of starting a 6 cylinder 1940's Chevrolet Pickup engine lying on its side in a junk yard in 1961.
Bring on the thunder. I like hearing old motors run.
Bad Chad does “will it start?”
I love this channel!
Good luck!
I'm confident it will turn into a reliable fun/race engine. I hope to see some long pipes throwing flames!
I like how Chad asked for help with engine
Yehaaaaa! Love the gas and starter fluid, that is going to be a party for sure. Have fun but please stay safe. Peace out
Using what you got! I love it! True craftsmanship
Chad’s a wildman with that blow gun! Thing is gonna be sweet!
Who else got all giddy when it started fitting for the 1st time?
Hi Chad love your passion for your work and amazing workmanship good job from Australia Melbourne 🙏🇦🇺
Usually you are on the ball but it looked like a real mess today. I can't believe you didn't have at least 2 cans of starting fluid along with gas. A new set of plugs would have been handy also. The engine wants to start, it needs more fuel.
Can’t wait to hear the Hup run! It will be an awesome engine for the vintage race car!
Yes, somebody who knows about engines
Chad, blowing compressed air with no eye protection, very risky! Just trying to keep you healthy so you can continue to do this fine work.
Never heard one of these run! Can’t wait to see it go. Unique motor for racing.
Love seeing Gene at the shop. What a legend 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍👍
Looking forward to hearing it run 🧰⛽🚗
Need Gas and Doug! Great video thanks for sharing!
Went to the dollar store and picked up 2 bags of potato chips, sit back and watch the show, love watching Chad do what most people think is the impossible, 5 Star rating ,,Chad & Jolene
Don’t you need a constant fuel line now?
I see we have a little bit of a change of pace today, I’m looking forward to it
Burning a lot of video time looking for tools and everything else. Prepared is never a priority. Chad is a fast worker and a slow helper. Cluttersville. NO GAS? hard to watch a pro builder be so scatter brained. WOW!
Chad I think your losing IGN when you remove the screwdriver. check for hot on the coil
It's "Beer Day" love it!
Nice to meet "Downtown John". Thanks for sharing the inner workings of another build. Thank You Jolene for your production. It takes us as if were right there.
You’re a lucky man to have such a beautiful understanding if you ever wanna leave in jail and I live in Blachard okla
It’s been almost a week since I’ve watched the last episode. Huge changes to the car-truck. Looks awesome 😎
I want this motor to start soo bad! It sounds like it wants to too!
I was rooting for the ol motor. She’s going to be a runner!
Good Day to everyone
Super cool block.
Yes Chad. If she turns over and had compression and fuel, by gosh she will fire. Great to have a little experienced help in the mix too. Hats off to you for keeping the old girls running. Show them a little love and they will start.
Run Baby Run, Love this show!!!
Close but no cigar! Hope you guys get it running, sounds like a good engine, maybe just the spark plug wires need double checked for right firing order. Anyways, good luck getting it out of gear.
You'll get it running. I have confidence 😊
Good Morning BAD CHAD JOLENE & DOWNTOWN JOHN good too see your getting the engine going and it's nice to see a Mechanic doing his job
Love seeing Gene at the shop.
I got a chuckle when you started opening the drawers of your toolbox… It’s like my toolbox and probably 90% of every one out there....disorganized chaos!
Run a fuel line from the gas can (Can with gas in it ) to the fuel pump, she'll fire right off I tell ya. I wanna hear this baby purr!
I thought you had it going there for a minute but we will see how it goes tomorrow, good bit octane will fire it up 🔥👍😎
Love how you don’t have a pacific place for each tool and must remember where you had it last. I can relate!
You and me both.
Exciting watching new things everyday , the engine will run .
A racing car given a new lease of life!
That engine has sat quiet just waiting to be a race car all it’s life. Kudos 🇨🇦🇬🇧🙏
Love the way you do things but I have to ask if that’s the engine you’re planning to use for your race car?
I love that you don't have any music and speeded up video. Great work!
That looks like a nice engine.
Racing Bad Chad style. I love it. Go on with your Bad self.
I'm pretty sure the engine will start sooner or later. Fingers crossed.😉🤞
Greetings from Switzerland
Jolene!! Get a Countryman Headset microphone! Try it you'll love it!
Something that always helps me start an old engine is (if you can) pre fill the float bowl with fuel through the vent opening then it should run for up to 30 seconds in some cases if the fuel pump is not yet pulling fuel from the source. One of the tricks i learned. lol.
I had a 35 hupp like the one you built a while back, I upholstered a 34 Hupp and the oldest car I upholstered was a 1910 Hupp.
Some of the best camera work on the web you are so awesome
Like these, will it run moments.
Great job Batman and Catwoman love the show. That motor only has 102hp wow think mite need that Blower... Love the show
Cant wait to see it driving around.
Nice job on the back jump Jolene. That would have made a great place to put tools and tie downs if you kept the trunk
"Every day's a school day!" sure sticks with me.
Getting an old motor to run that has sat for a long time is always an adventure let it rip
Fill the carb bowl with gas not down the throat . And it well run.
I think what you have to do is direct petrol to carburetor using a small tank.
Fill the float bowl and give it 1/2 choke.
The engine won't run on air. You need a gas supply. It's trying it's best to start and will only run for a second on the fuel you're pouring in the carb. You need to keep a supply trickling in the carb. My 2 cents.
👍🏻Sometimes it’s the little things we forget!!! Lol.
Ah here we go another banger old school style I like the 292 cu. In. Chev 6 banger lots of torque fire her up Chad.😊😚😚😚😚👍👍👍👍👍👍
Got your tongue on the right side
Keep pumping that carb, it's got to go, haha. Chad get you a small bottle to pour from, or a backfire is gona get exciting. I know, and more than once, Haha. Great Show, wanted to hear it pure, now got to come back to see it! 👍
thats a great engine for the race car.sweet
Another school day, lesson learned. I'd bet tomorrow Chad will have every gas can filled to the brim.
