Been looking forward to your LoV CP! Iv been working on my CP since February, getting it built up and customized. Unlike my Necrons who have some customization here and there, my LoV army I really wanted to stretch my customization/kitbash skills on. I have my Kahl finished, the 3 hover bikes, which no longer hover, and unfortunately I already had the warriors equiped with the bolters last year. Ill just proxy them for the ion blasters for now. Im working on the Beserks as I watch this, and have most of the customization done. All in all Iv had a pretty fun time with this army so far and its only been the CP. I still have the Einhyr champion, and both commemorative models to complete before I decide to move on to other units in the range. I dont want a pile of shame for this army like my others haha. I think Im gonna go with the killteam next that way I can knock out two birds with one stone getting that warrior squad with the proper load outs for CP and having another killteam squad
Thanks so much! Gotta be honest and admit that the leather worked out better than I'd hoped, as I'd never tried that combination of colors and techniques before.
These look awesome, makes me want to get motivated to try and get my Votann force built and painted (i bought the army box when it launched in 2022 and still haven't even assembled most of it)
Very nicely done. Yeap those racing stripes add like 45 kilowatts to the pads. So it's a go faster thing. 😂 I'm impressed by the series. Thanks for undertaking it.
May i ask what combination of paints you used for the orange? Ive been trying to paint my votann in this scheme but i am struggling to find the right shade.

I have lived in Edinburgh Scotland for all my life (44 years) and we must have had 8 or 9 big snow falls in my life, Scotland is sporadic to say the least for snow unless you live up north. The East and west Highlands and Islands have had many heavy snowfalls in the last few years.
Climate does indeed change my friend. Whether or not the current change has been induced by industrialization of the human species enough to worry has not been effectively demonstrated by "climate" scientists. During warming periods, the Earth has historically had greater flora and fauna. What we really need to worry about is when the current interglacial period ends and the pushes the northern ice into central America and the Mediterranean Sea.

Suggestion for the chaos space marine combat patrol you could do Fallen
I have considered it, but that Alpha Legion green/blue is calling my name...
Suggestion then for a bit of storytelling the dark apostle partially dark angle with maybe something as simple as a shoulder pad or hood

The orange is GW Trollslayer. The gradient highlight/drybrush color is 1 part trollslayer and 2 parts Yuriel Yellow.
Easily the best colour combo I've seen on Votann. I always loved the orange scheme, but the squad leader in the cream 👌
I love flipping color schemes in reverse for HQ units.

Why would you not cut away most of the mold lines?
I might have missed a few, but I generally clean all my mold lines and drill the barrels. (Those these were a bit small to drill out)
