very informative talaga mga videos mo. kahit nag-eendorse ka o sponsored yung video, justifiable naman through informations na naiintindihan ng tao kahit di kami engrs.. at most of all ginagamit mo talaga ang item. God bless skyfam. ❤
I swear every video you put out is super handy!!! It's as if every time I have a specific home issue, you'd coincidentally upload a video on it. Keep it up my fellow Cebuano!
Thank you for this, Slater! Very informative and easy to understand! If only more people like you teach things this easy, then more people will be educated 😊 ps. Could you possibly also do a video on what paints to use on cement, wood, plastic, etc? I’m confused ‘cause there are so many kinds of paint and I have no idea what to use.. They all seem so complicated when you research or read about them... You explain things so much easier and better 😅😂 Thank you so much! More power to your channel and to the skyfam💖
hey slate, how about your built in oven and microwave... where do you put an AVR since your kitchen cabinets are modular and the sockets are at the back? the gap usually is just about 10to 20mm from wall to microwave for modular cabinets.
Good day. I followed your advice and bought an AVR (same item and brand mentioned here from APC) for our LG ref. I would like to kindly ask, if advisable na magkaroon din ng AVR sa microwave oven (we have Elio 60 MW from Elba) at one year lang, hindi na gumagana at nasira na yung “board”. So baka kailangan din ng AVR na ang power required ay 3000 W then ang microwave output power ay 1000 W. Please advise. Thank you
Great video. I would like that you make a video about the plumbing of your skypod (What pipe did you use, do you use pump, water tank, hot water system etc..) Because plumbing is the most important aspect of a house :)
Hi Slater! What is the protection device you are using for your air-conditioner? Inverter split type in specific. I just noticed often voltage drop here in our area. Thanks in advance for your response.
Very informative and helpful jud kaau. 😍 Especially diri sa amoa sa Zamboanga Sibugay. Pirmi short circuit. Siga palong Ang suga unya magtingog ang ref jud. Nakailis namig ref ug tv, may nalng among printer na dala rag ayo. 😐
Hi I like the use of RCD they now are becoming available in Cebu. Our pool engineer has rcd fitted to din rail however they did not know how to connect to circuit breaker. Yes I've fitted in the house surge protectors . I'm retired builder in New Zealand our Cebu house is holiday home. The other thing is I've had fitted to windows tinted film heavy grade designed for intrusion protection made in Canada by car wrap company ordered on Amazon. This was after Typhoon Odette.
Hello po kuya Slater!! Been following you for years. Thank you. Around 50-78 watts lang po based on specs ng ref.
Hi! We have a dishwasher that is has a rated power of 1620w. I would need an avr that would handle at least 5000watts of power. Does it still need to have an avr or will a surge protector suffice? Is it also too much to have a 5000w avr just for 1 dish washer?
May tanong po ako.. hndi po ba pwede lagyan nlang ng outlet na may surge protection ung saksakan para sa cheaper appliances para in a way aesthetic pa rin ang look
There's also an electronic equip i use the size of an MCB and is DIN rail type. Has energy monitor, surge protection, delay on, over current & short circuit protector & can be monitored over wifi cost 2k php more or less. I must say the delay on is what kept my things in shape. kasi the first 30s when the power grid comes back on is usually unstable with some fluctuations due to varying loads na nkakasira madalas ng tv & ref, kaya i opted to delay my entire home power by about that much time. seems to work for me.
@@myr.aguila here's what i installed in my house... 100A would NOT be enough for a big big house... but for medium to small houses 100A is usually enough at the mains (match the Amp of your MAIN BREAKER)... look at lazada 2P 100A Automatic Recovery Over and Under Voltage delay relay protector
I like how educational this is. I always wondered what I need. Glad I used APC UPS din for my iMac kaso luma na siya kailangan ko na yatang palitan hahaha. How about Washing Machine? I feel like ang bilis nilang masira, kailangan din bumili ng AVR or masyadong malakas ang WM?
Thats true. I had a project before where I need to connect my coring machine to the main source of electricity of the plant however the source is a kilometer away from the location where the coring will take place. So we tried initially it run smoothly but later on the motor was burnt this is due to the voltage drop and surge. So instead to to supply a stable electricity I decided to deploy a genset that is capable to supply a constant voltage so that my machine wont be damage
UPS only when you need to save a file from your computer before it shuts down. AVR gamit ko for my Google TV. And for other appliances I use Panther surge protector na extension.
Hmmm. One important thing missing from this video is the fact that Surge Protectors NEED to be plugged to a three-wire grounded receptacle to work. Most houses in the Philippines only have two-wire ungrounded receptacles. Now a lot of people will buy these products and think they will be properly protected from surges. They will also use universal adapters to adapt the three-pronged APC Surge Protectors to two-wired ungrounded receptacles. I use APC products for two decades already and that’s one important thing to note.
In Slater's example his ref is 200watts. He multiplied it by 3 to get 600watts rating for the avr he need for the appliance. To convert Watts to VA, divide it to power factor (search in google). Divide it for example to a power factor of .6 -> 600watts / 0.6 = 1000VA
For desktop users sa home office nila pls use a UPS talaga. My old PC got fried because of the electricity fluctuation. Yung sira niya tipong hindi madadaan sa palit lang ng isang part, like RAM or power supply. Fried lahat from motherboard, RAM, etc. so walang choice kundi bumili ng new unit
Yup tama to magandang investment ang UPS lalo na sa mga work from home dyan or yung mga gumagamit na mga applications na walang auto save feature. Ups is the key
I use awp digital ups its cheap but no doubt that apc is one of the leading power supply in the country but i just have little budget so awp is good enough for Me i got 2 one for my music studio and one is for my flat screen tv and wifi and deco mesh
UPS ko ay APC brand its help your computer system shout down properly.
Surge Protector is useless in most Filipino houses because most houses don’t even have a proper ground for the electric panel of the house & most appliances sold in the Philippines don’t have ground also.
@@glennjv01 Yeah but it’s mostly useless still. Even if it has a working ground, a direct lightning strike will still damage anything connected to a surge protector. A good solution is to install SPD aka Surge Protection Device that can take the brute force of the lightning and it’s required in the electrical panel of the house in most western countries.
Slater Young is the new Oshopping :>>
Right! Nabudol din ni Engrr. Esp na 10.10 sale na 😭
Tro
coz he's so believable haha mabubudol ka tlga kapag nagsalita na xa
Finally! A good and easy explanation on the differences of UPS, AVR and Surge Protector.

Excellent video. First time I've seen someone in the Philippines make a video about electronics with this quality. 👏👏
Salamat kaayo, Slater!

I love how you explained our products. I’m proud working for Schneider Electric
This surely is perfect video…..appreciate so much the brief, short and concised lecture
And just when I was thinking of buying one - but didn't know what/which to buy! Thanks, Slater! Very timely video! Keep 'em coming! :D
Oh my gosh! Sakto! May new laptop just got fixed na nasira due to power fluctuations. Thank you Engr.!
The best video so far to answer the problem brought by the worst electric company in the Philippines.Hello MORESCO 2 kanus-a paba mog tarong!

Hi Slater, what model did you get for your Delonghi Espresso machine? We have a hard time finding one that will match Delonghi required Wattage.
Hi Slater! What is the protection device you are using for your air-conditioner? Inverter split type in specific. I just noticed often voltage drop here in our area. Thanks in advance for your response.

AVR is the most practical thing to use for sensitive appliances. UPS is overkill unless you need to use it for a computer with important files on it.
ooooooh I see. never thought about it. esp for the UPS

Can you do another video about what we can get for the fuse panel to protect the whole house for surge and low voltage as well.
sir slater, what can you say about track sockets? are these good and energy efficient, too?
I learned these from my techie siblings..but about sa brand, I was really looking for the best brand na hindi ako mabibigo. this one is timely Sir.
no skipping ads for slater !!
For washing machine po ba mas better ups?nkakatakot ksi kng nsa spinning mode nxa tapos biglang ng brownout.
Hi slater I have a massage chair , a rower and other small appliances what should I buy for each devices pls
Hello po kuya Slater!! Been following you for years. Thank you. Around 50-78 watts lang po based on specs ng ref.
ask lang po,
pwede ba magamit yung UPS for 110v blender imbis na transformer?

Add to cart dayon... Thanks sa info!
Can you make a video about disaster proof house? What should we do and the materials needed?
The lowest nanosecond's involved in triggering disconnection is important to have along with the higher Joules rating.

Thank you po for this video, easy to understand and very informative. Keep up the good work po!😁🙂
Super great video! Thanks kuya slater!
Very informative 🤩🤩🤩
Better than Oshopping!!! 🤣👍 We need more Slatter Young!

thanks sir slater for this very informative video. i'm still using my UPS even the battery is dead for surge protection.
ok ba gamitin yan apc avr sa ref 30 days walang patayan sir di ba magiinit
Ahh the QUALITY ✨
It's so satisfying
sana meron na rin silang LiFePO4 na battery for the UPS. kasi mostly they are using SLD battery which has lower lifespan than LiFePO4..
Pwede ba yung UPS sa electric keyboard? Or AVR is enough ?
Love this guy.
what about aircons? can we use the ups for it?
UPS only when you need to save a file from your computer before it shuts down.
AVR gamit ko for my Google TV. And for other appliances I use Panther surge protector na extension.
Wow maayo ka gyud mahimong teacher hehehe
Thank you Sir Slater.

Hi Sir Slater, how do we know how much VA rating of a UPS/AVR we would need for our equipment or appliances? Thank you po!

does appliances includes ebike vehicles? we changed our battery like 4 times already and i think its because of the extension
Learning more for your vlog. Blessed Sunday stay safe skyfam.
Very short but super informative clip!
Ganda nang UPS
Thank u for this helpful comparison
thank you sir!
Hope you don't mind me asking, im curious about the thing on your wrist, nis that a tattoo or a sort of string?..
I use awp digital ups its cheap but no doubt that apc is one of the leading power supply in the country but i just have little budget so awp is good enough for

ups batter backup replacement pls.
thanks sa info sir!!
UPS ko ay APC brand its help your computer system shout down properly.
Yow sir you really help us in everything when it comes to house thank you so much
hala!dili pa diay ko subscriber nimo Dong Slater?ahak!sub nko ron, now naaaa😉
For ups, there is simulated sinewave and pure sinewave..
Napaisip ako ano klase nang motor type gamit nya. Ang familiar kasi is yung relay and servo motor. Also, ano difference.
APC Line-R LSW2000-IND 1000W 2000VA Automatic Voltage Regulator, 3 Universal Outlets, 230V
Thank you sir
Makes a lot of sense
EDC reveal naman sir slater
Kapag ba the UPS is 600, and the watts of the ref is 200. Can you still put other appliances on it even it already covers the 600 from ref?
I think, no. Kasi sbi nya multiply the wattage to 3, so 200w x 3 is 600. 1 avr is only enough to protect the ref.
Unsai na hetabo sa blender
Thanks dong! Budol napud mi ani 😅
Are you saying you’re gonna put an AVR to your fridge?
You nailed it bai!
Can we use extension cord to AVR?
searching in google is probably faster than waiting for a reply but yes you can
@Reiki well then thankyou for tips and advice 😉
Sadly the AVR is sold out :( hope the brand team is aware… Sayang the 10.10 sales ;)
APC talaga the best UPS.
maam sur!
Am I this too excited to live by my self??? Independently???
Surge Protector is useless in most Filipino houses because most houses don’t even have a proper ground for the electric panel of the house & most appliances sold in the Philippines don’t have ground also.
not totally... the Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) inside that surge protector should help catch some surges... not perfect... but still helps.

aren't these low power issues solved by your solar power system?
