Spring 1983, Carmine, Derringer, and Bogert play a Pittsburgh show with finalists from a "drum-off" as part of the bill. I'm honored to say I was one of the finalists. Hanging out in the dressing room with the guys pre-show, and after loosening up earlier with stick twirls, Carmine asks, "how were you doing that?" He immediately began practicing the twirl. A year or two later I was floored when I saw him do the twirl I showed him in a video. Nearly thirty years later and I still need pinched!
You are seriously amazing with the TWIRLS.. also enjoyed seeing you apply the TWIRLS to the drumset... very IMPRESSED.. I am very into Carmine appice... enjoy watching his videos as well. thanks for sharing all your know how... I got a lot of homework to do.
ive been doing the open hand spin for well over a decade..didnt know anyone else did it..never saw anyone but me do that before. haha. ofc i let it spin several times before grabbing the stick again...not just once i also do a thing where i spin the stick over the back of my hand using the pinky and thumb skipping the other 3 fingers
Even though I never use stick twirling while playing, I always wondered how the pro's managed to do some tricks and now I know it. Thanks for the funny tutorial. Enjoyed watching it. Thanks again.

This is a nice video. But his head is green when I watch the video in fullscreen-mode. Why would he paint his head green?

Ao girar as baquetas parecem helices de helicóptero.
important.
I still can't get it right :I
this guy just concentrates on spinning stick over drums but not on playing it.
I've since developed hemroids , it was a great trick though.
And this is why I don't use Evans.
maybe because it's a tutorial is on how to spin the sticks, not play the drums

I think my hands are retarded. My drumming is fine, but my hand is just retarded when it comes to tricks like these.
This flashy stuff should be banned from drumming.
