The improved performance may simply come from training effects (they're busy with the paper planes for 50min). There is no control group. Therefore nothing can be said of the intervention effect. An actual RCT would entail an intervention group, and an active control group (these people are busy with the material for 50min, but are not using the intervention). No one should be aware of what group they belong to (intervention vs active control), to avoid self-fulfilling prophecy. This is blind randomization.
