94!! Incredible!! I’m reading the book right now and thoroughly enjoying it. Thank you so much, Lew, for writing it. So glad you did. Seriously appreciated. Love Jimmy! And you too.
Interesting interview with Lew Bracker and his book detailing his friendship with the iconic James Dean. We received a story not detailed in the book, how James Dean would probably have been a director, the audience reaction to a showing of A Rebel Without a Cause (glad they made it in color), and then an incident where Natalie Wood went to The Villa. The interviewer (Dustin Richardson) did a fantastic job letting Lew Bracker tell his story. Can't wait for Episode 3.
Thanks for sharing this! I met Lew at the James Dean Birthsite Memorial Dedication and told him he should do an audiobook of Jimmy and Me cuz he had done reading excerpts of it before and I love the book. I thought it would be great to hear him tell his story. This is great like excerpts from the book...Wouldn't it be cool for him to do the whole book....I think so...I hope he does it...Come on, Lew!
What year did you meet him? I am going to Indiana this year. I became an admirer of Jimmy Dean’s work in the 80s and hung out with Eartha Kitt in the 80s after one of her shows! We had wine and she told me great stories. At times, with tears in her eyes.
@@susanedrington4878 maybe like five years ago whatever year it was when they had the birthsite memorial dedication. ...he spoke there...I videotaped his part there on my youtube channel in the James Dean section. I met Eartha Kitt too. She was not very friendly when I met her. Went backstage after the play Lady Sings the Blues at the Athaneum Theater in Chicago and asked her to sign the program. Mentioned were were James Dean fans and heard she hung out with Jimmy and asked if she had any stories she could tell us. She was really snobby and was like we didn't hang out...she didnt like that expression I guess...she said she was writing a book and we could read her stories there. Of all the people I met who knew James Dean she is the only one I got bad vibes from. She was snobby and not friendly at all...She might have been in a bad mood cuz toward the end of the play I noticed she lost a shoe under her long dress and she was fidgeting around trying to find it and never seemed to find it and I was totally distracted by that at the end of the show...anyway most people I met who knew Jimmy were nice but not her...You are lucky she was in a good mood and shared her stories with you...
Amazing at 94!!!
What a memory.
