Just a friendly suggestion. When crimping the wires together, put the connectors on the new plug first. That way you can do them out in the open instead of a cramped area. also, before removing the old pump, take a vacuum and remove any dirt that has accumulated around the seal so it doesn't fall into the tank. Nice video, anyhow!

I do not know if this channel is active but I just bought a monte carlo and it seems as if every video you have done is what is wrong with my mc... thankful!
To clarify, so that I'm understanding correctly, at the :44 mark, the procedure of just unplugging that relay while engine running, then plugging back in and re-starting the engine should re-set/fix the faulty fuel gauge? My fuel pump is fine, but for several years I've been driving by mileage because the fuel guage is all over the place...When ya fill up, it will almost always go to full, and stay there til what is probably about1/-2/3's tank, then sometimes it'll drop down to empty then jump all the way back over, or anywhere in between. And by the way; thank you SO much for the window regulator vids; especially the newer one....VERY helpful and saved me a buttload of money.
Thank you for watching. This wont always fix the fuel gauge however it is worth a shot. You simply take out the relay and the engine is going to stall. Plug it pack in and restart the vehicle. Please let us know how the repair comes out! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

i replaced the fuel sensor, only issue i ran into was getting the pump to slide all the way in to get black ring to push all the way down to turn, but after pushing and banging it fir awhile worked like a charm.
I just changed this out as instructed and my car will start to turn over, but will not turn completely on. The fuel pump is not sending as I removed the fuel line connects and they are bone dry. I didn’t have any trouble getting it started before so I’m not really sure where to go from here. Any help would be great! Thanks!
This is extremely helpful, I have to drain about 1,5 to 2 gallons of DIESLE Fuel from the tank of an 05 and I am using the Pump. Cycling between on and acc untill the purgeing line I attached to the Schrader Valve is not pumping anything . I plan to use 92 octane about 5 gallons and 1 capful of A1 CLEAr Kero to HOPEFULLY clean out the whole system after pulling the Plugs and replacing them. I am also going to wait till I smell GASOLINe in the Fuel rail. Wish me luck. Oh any other tricks will help Last resort is to have to accessing he Tank via the Pump. UGH! I will wait on an answer. before proceeding.
Fuel gauge on my 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue hasn't worked in 2 years. Got the new sensor, haven't installed it yet and I'll wait until the trip says 150 miles before I actually replace it. I replaced the fuel pressure sensor back in June since the old one was acting funny and caused my car to stall out constantly (car's computer thought there was 0 PSI).
I have a 1997 Chevy Monte Carlo Z34. On my dash the Fuel gauge is stuck on Full so I don't know how much gas I have in my tank. Do I need to change the whole Fuel Pump sending unit or a Relay ? Thanks for a reply.
My fuel lines are badly rusted with another winter coming. Whats the best way to go about this using Nylon replacement line? Do I need to run the line all the way to the tank\sending unit in Trunk ? Application is a 2000 Monte Carlo ss
I was trying this up to the point of removing the fuel lines but when i removed mine, I got sprayed with gas. I purged the system before hand. I had maybe a half tank of gas in though. Does that effect anything?
+tyler Darnell The part shown in the video does fit your application. It should be the same or a similar procedure. Here is a link to them on our website. Hope this helps you out. www.1aauto.com/electric-fuel-pump-and-sending-unit-module/i/1afpu01117?RUclips&CTA+Comment&TQE0V38
Hello I have a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo LS and the problem that I am having is p0446.. I replaced Purge solenoid and vapor Purge canister. several mechanics keep having me spend necessary money and not helping me solve the problem. I am still getting this code can you please give me your opinion on what's causing the code?
My 2005 Monte Carlo has a solid trunk deck with no access behind rear seats. there are only oval impressions where the access cover should be. Any ideas on how to do the fuel pump replacement?
My 2005 is the same as yours. The book says to pull the tank. Could use an air chisel to cut it open but then there is an issue of how to have a good closure. I'm going to pull my tank.
My fuel pump works but my fuel gauge doesn't show proper levels. Sometimes it will show full. Sometimes empty. Sometimes somewhere in between. Is this my problem, needing the entire unit replaced? Thanks
Nice video very informative but i would never bunch wires together and cut them at once i always cut one at a time to ensure you don't short nothing out just habit i guess

My colors don't match and the pump is same as yours and car is same and it's the right fuel pump. Car wires are purple, orange with black line ,grey and black then the new harness looks like yours do what wires go to what
Really you should not ever cut all the wires at once you do them one at a time, and make sure you stagger your crimp connectors so they aren’t all in a bunch.

Is 07 similar
So I don't have that panel and I don't know where it could be
I have an 05 more Carlo and there is no plate in my trunk I have to drop the tank
I can't remove one of the posts. It's bending the entire ring. Any suggestions?
You have to twist it back and forth or what i had to do was cut it off out side of the car
Wish they all had access from up top. Dropping tanks suck.
