It's going to be 95* F today. All my cool weather plants have bolted or died. I pulled up my last spinach and broccoli yesterday for tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers. I'll pick my last snap peas today and cut them down. This is the first year I had any luck with snap peas. It stayed cool enough for them to bloom and make peas. I'm watching all your brassicas growing with envy. They look so beautiful.

What a great idea! I'm just starting to try and get the hang of interplanting! Spinach is definitely next on my list to try at the base of another plant!

Now I know where to spot plant some leftover mixed lettuce ~ around dazzling blue kale in a big pot.
    Thank you.

That's a great idea. Not only is it saving the cost on soil but the cost of containers. l need to learn as much as l can about inter-planting as l have a small garden and we want to make use of every available space this year. Iv just sown fast growing radish next to my pea's. Is there anything l can inter-plant with my main crop potato's do you think. ? Iv got a lots of containers of them this year and all that soil around/above them, l feel could grow something fast above them.

I also have never grown brussells in containers I hope that works I will watch that to see how they do! Would putting in spring onions in that early container help to fool the cabbage root fly? I know you put spinach in... but I might try it next year.

Hi Ally, I get mine from Morrisons, aldi and lidl, they are ex cut flower buckets, just ask in store they will give them too you. They don't reuse them. Hope this helps.
