Hi Karen. So good to see you again with your intriguing mind 😉. Fascinating video as always. Wising you a good new year full of inspiration and hope. Take care. Jan
Oh my love it, I used it with his Eiffel Tower painting panel which I cut in half and inserted this one into it. Too bad I can’t post a pic here. Exciting to see it used in a different way.
@WarpedSpinster me too it looks so simple at first glance but there is so much depth perspective and life it draws you in. In my English lessons there was a picture on the wall of a forest walk in purples and gold sunlight that I would get lost in too. Got caught out once so absorbed I wasn't hearing the lesson.
That’s a lot of little pieces! I found it engrossing to hear you discuss what you see and retain about this painting. It made me look again at the work and really consider what I’m seeing.
Yes, indeedy, it is a lot of little pieces. 😜 It reminds me of the Circuit quilt. Art is such a wonderful thing--everyone sees something different, and takes something different away from it. 🥰
So glad you are back. Love the painting idea. Loved the white block. I did think the shape was a butterfly until you explained the main elements were not yet on your ‘canvas’. I thou it is so exciting. I can hardly wait for the next episode. Happy and successful new year.
The artwork you used is a favourite of mine and was done in carpet across a whole wall of one of my favourite restaurants years ago. Love the way things that spark you.
Love this. Very interesting seeing you working through the process. I noticed different things about Surat's painting just from the way you talked us through things at the start. For instance, although I'd noticed that the umbrellas mimic the bustle on the woman's skirt, I hadn't noticed that the same shape is echoed in the sails on the boats on the Seine... Very enjoyable to watch and really made me think!
Thanks, Shawnalee! One of my favorite things about art is seeing something different every time you look at it--and everyone sees something different. ❤
I really enjoy watching and listening to your planning process. It's always very inspiring!
Thank you, Kate! I'm happy you find it inspiring; s fear that sometimes I'm just spouting irrelevant nonsense!! 😂
Same for me . Inspired by your process

Oooh! 🎉 exciting! I am happy we get to see how this piece evolves from inspiration to completion ❤
I'll be interested to see how it evolves, too--fingers crossed ! 🥰
The perspectives and use of light is what makes it a favourite.
I also like like it somehow invites you into the scene. I've always been a little surprised that I like it so much.
