These are definitely not trustworthy. I'm hoping there's a better design. Mine only works at random now. I heard that the new ones are better. I'm glad I put the pipe in the ground, I can switch it out easy now.
Hi, Phil and our alarm works by someone looking out the window and hollering' Who in the sam hill is THAT knothead'?? Works fairly well when someone is home. Hope the kitty freezer is getting full and all is well there! Have a Jesus week and GBWYall!
That was our old alarm! Yes, our freezer is getting full of catfish. My son and I have been fairly productive. The days are getting shorter, so it’s harder to make it out there after work during the week. So good to hear from you, Lewie! I was just telling my wife earlier that I was worried about you because I hadn’t heard from ya. Hope u have a great week. GBWU2!
What a great tut. I can do this without hiring someone. BTW we are still using your Spaghetti Sauce canning recipe every year and always think of your Utube when we do. Thanks for both.!
Just a note, if performance degrades over time, the buried USB connection is a likely culprit. Damp will get in, that's life, and with an electrical potential difference at that point, it'll maybe be the weak point in the chain,v especially as we're taking low voltage you could end up with a lot of line loss. Just mentioning it in case.
very good tutorial, thank you. I have a question, how long the alarm (beep) will stay on, if the vehicle stays (stops) within the range, will the alarm device keeps beeping ?
It just does a series of 4 beeps (the last one is longer). then it resets itself after several minutes. We had cars parked around it a couple months ago, and I don't recall it ever going off over and over again. In fact, it may have just stayed in pre-reset mode.
Mines not usb style instead a proprietary type connector, guess they changed at some point (bought a used one off ebay). Read somewhere else they recommend max 20ft add on.
interesting! I have to say.... after having this one for a while now, I have found it to be very glitchy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't....and sometimes it goes off just for the heck of it. I hope they improved this since then. I do love it when it works.
What was the original length of sensor wire? Do you think it would work if the sensor was 3'from driveway? I'm trying to avoid buying a 5' usb extension cable.
Mine keeps peeping, what am I to do? It worked for 5 years. You think kit needs new batteries, I bought another yesterday, it peeping now, every 2 second. Please give advice. I’m a widow alone thank you
I don't know that issue. Never heard of it. The only issues I've had it the random car that drives in without it going off. Im actually thinking about an upgrade. These things keep getting better as time goes on.
thats a lot easier to reset than a trip wire and fireworks....great video/instructions as always!
Thanks!!!
Nicely done video. Mine’s about 4 years old. Just stopped working so I was searching RUclips fir a fix. Like your tip with the conduit

Excellent tutorial! Appreciate you putting it together. I just purchased this same unit.
You will love this product! I wish I would have done this years ago.

Hopefully the conduit will increase the life of this unit. Plus, if the cable goes bad, I can pull a new one through without digging it all up.

Is there multiple ringers for the receiver?
Nope
Directions say to not have metal of any sort with several feet or it will cause problems.
That makes sense to me

if I remember right, it was 10'. I think 3' from driveway is prob ok. Let me know how it works out, Joe.
