    One correction: red dwarves with ZAMS spectral class later than M3 do not expand, for they are entirely convective. They simply tend to heat up: some Gyr (gigayears, i.e. billions of years) to become M3 from M4, dozens of Gyr to become K9, some 100 to 200 Gyr will render it as K4-6. Type G would be hit in the next 300 Gyr, F is a matter of another 300 Gyr. And finally it'll become a blue (sub)dwarf, consisting of far more helium than hydrogen. M5V - M0V - K4V - G8V - F8V - A9V - B2VIp. Then, exhausting its last hydrogen, it'll become an entirely helium white dwarf DB3.
    M0-M3V stars, however, have radiative zone in their cores, so they can become red giants of the latest classes (M8-9 or even earlier L), when their cores exhaust hydrogen, and fusion recedes into a shell on the core's surface. They haven't enough mass to launch a helium fusion reaction, so they do not have pulses and any red clumps. M0V - K3V - K9IV - M8III - DO1 + P (the latter being a planetary nebula).

    What is the mass of the star? Is the size of the star shown in radius or diameter? There is a mistake when a star is born, it forms gigantic, and then shrinks until thermonuclear reactions occur.

    • @Redstar229
      @Redstar229 Год назад

      @thomasvallentimjoao The difference is the Radius is the segment that connects the center of the circle and any point on the circle itself. A diameter is a segment that connects two points of a circle and passes through its center.

    An M5V star has between 0.14-0.20 solar masses. A star of this mass will shrink and become a blue dwarf.
    A red dwarf must have at least 0.25 solar masses for a red giant phase, otherwise this red dwarf will shrink.

    Red dwarfs do not expand, They just die out, And it is not a blue dwarf, It becomes a white dwarf, And then trillions of years it becomes it a black dwarf.
    Edit: Red dwarfs do become blue dwarfs and they become White dwarfs
    So sorry about the mistake 😞
