Next, resorting to violence when it comes to your family and friends is not a normal response. Granted, if you're an adolescent it's more understandable due to them not having good control over their emotions due to the frontal lobe not fully maturing but as an adult 25+ that is an unhealthy, downright toxic trait to have. I've never laid a hand on any of my friends even during big disagreements, and when it comes to family the last physical fight was when I was 18. First I want to preface and say that this is not an attack (no pun intended) but a teachable discussion that I hope you gain some perspective:
Okay I need you to take everything you just said and flip that to a spouse saying that about their partner. "They got on my nerves so much that I had to smack them" "They needed to get hit" "that doesn't mean we hate each other", "just because you don't do it doesn't make it bad." Do you understand how that sounds? There should be a level of boundary and respect for anyone you give the title of "friend" and even "family" than you would with someone off of the street. If you're prone to putting your hands on them like anyone else then what's the point? Just like your friends and family should never feel comfortable to lay hands, feet or bodily fluids on you. No judgement but factually that is not healthy that's dysfunctional. What if during one of your fights your friend/sis/etc slips, cracks their head open and passes? You just lost someone important to you because you couldn't control your emotions I wish I could say it's extreme but that happens more times than not. Idk I take the friendship title seriously and don't just claim a friend without fully vetting them because my relationships are important to me. But in either case Natalie is quicker to put hands on Scotty than a chick that's slapped her. There's no way that Natalie is a genuine friend.
