I have seen a lot of negative comments about David Byron in several videos, so let me just say. There was no greater singer than Byron and no Uriah Heep without him. I really love John Lawton as the lead singer to, but it´s only Uriah Heep´s 1970-1980 records there´s worth listening to.
No so. If you like Heep style music, then do listen to Wake the Sleeper, Sea of Light, and Living the Dream. Very HEepy. Mick Box at the helm. Don't miss out, even if it's not THE Heep!
@also sprach zarathustra of course. Yes when I initially posted this 6 years ago, Lee Kerslake and Ken Hensley were still alive. Yes RIP as well to Lee and Ken
Mick Box appears to be playing with an injured hand. Funny coincidence; I recall reading that that same year, Jimmy Page had injured his ring finger while traveling on Zep's 'Physical Graffiti' tour and was playing while coping with pain and discomfort for much of the tour.
Mick Box is the last surviving member of their "classic" lineup (Byron, Hensley, Box, Thain, Kerslake), although not the last original member still with us. IIRC, Paul Newton, Nigel Olsson, Ian Clarke, and Mark Clarke are still living.
I agree with you on that. I might be wrong, but I think this performance was around the time that David B. was starting to go downhill, very sad. Anyone has more info on this?
David Byron had a drink problem and it really shows here - he's just not hitting the notes, he's slurring and flopping about the stage. There are plenty of performances from around this time when he was just fine (I saw them on their UK tour this year - my very first gig !). He was eventually forced out of UH in 1976 and if there were many more performances like this, it's not hard to see why. Some of the others already look pissed off in this clip...
A piece of gold for heep-fans...
not without thain
GREAT to see this incredible song performed live!
"HEEP"...David...Ken..
Lee..Gary, and Mick, All, " Musical Icon's"
🎶🎶🌹🌹🌹🌹🎶🎶❣️❣️❣️❣️
Not Gary Thain. He died by this time. John Wetton was on bass. He was an icon on his own.
Adoro a URIAH HEEP con David BYRON ..!! VIVA URIAH HEEP!!
Easy living has taken a place in my heart❤Good times back then! But a lot of drugs!
David Byron is young gorgeous and spectacular here. With the gesture of his hand, he resembles the Musketeers of the French court. Very attractive!

@also sprach zarathustra of course. Yes when I initially posted this 6 years ago, Lee Kerslake and Ken Hensley were still alive. Yes RIP as well to Lee and Ken
Wow!👍👍
Память на века всем ушедшим рокерам рок 🎸 рольщикам рокершам рок 🎸 навсегда здорово 👍
I wonder how kids today would take to this music if it came out as fresh and new.
a maior e mais representativa banda de rock pisicodélica da década de 70.
I swear John Wetton wore that same shirt gigging with King Crimson AND Roxy Music.
I'm 2021 who is with me??
Saw them live 2009 in Germany with Bernie Shaw. ❤
La classe non si inventa....... GRANDE BYRON
I feel a real connection with David his death really is heartbreaking to me!!
Great Heep
Super!!!
O MAIOR CLÁSSICO DO URIAH HEEP FANTÁSTICA MÚSICA

He's already gone. It's John Wetton (King Crimson/Asia) on bass.
Don't forget UK
Yes he's already gone ,also played in Family ,great bass player ,magnificent voice
What should be done ,from Look at yourself album ,1971 such a great song
Que energia deste maravilhoso grupo. O Bayron estava atacado!
I was about 9 or 10 years old back then
RIP Ken

Yeahhh Byron was really stoned... but he sang really well
By late 1975, Byron's drinking got out of control. That's why he was fired a year later. He died in 1985 after blowing out his liver.
number 1
Alright now how do i go in a psychedelic state psychedelics ? The words in Easy Livin are too fast, i would like to read all of it.
I loved Uriah Heep with John Wetton on bass and Byron but he didn't sing one note on key...not one it was "a little bit terrible"
Drunk too much imho
Круто!
Now brought to maLaysia caLL easy Livin silent n sorrow (law of justice)
Who was playing bass here? Sure wasn’t Gary or Trevor.
Byron never sober, too much drugs and booze all the time
hemp rules...
Is still Gary here at the bass, or what?
Enrico Fly no, John Wetton played bass and sang a bit 75/76 with UH. He was also in Family, Roxy Music, King Crimson,UK,Asia, Wetton/Downes, etc.
Gary Thain had died by this time, and was replaced by John Wetton.
John Wetton is average on bass compared to almighty Gary Thain
Band sounds pretty good, but Byron was flat as a pancake on this one.
You can tell he was "all done".
I agree with you on that. I might be wrong, but I think this performance was around the time that David B. was starting to go downhill, very sad. Anyone has more info on this?

What a downgrade for Wetton's Talent, the usual Drunk David Byron !!!!
Byron is evidently drunk and sounds awful
Even drunken the way he sings is fantastic
And that's why he got fired from the band.
A lot of drugs....
