Ignore what the subtitles said in saying "Luke Bege;" that was a weird type mistranslation the subtitles did. Katakuri was referring to Bege's role-title in security: Rook Bege (it mistook Rook to Luke in pronunciation)

So, something interesting to note about Katakuri is that his name literally means either "potato starch" or "dogtooth violet" (both being ingredients used to make candy). I bring this up because back when he first got introduced in the manga, there were some fan translations that "localized" his name as Dogtooth. The only reason I can think of for them doing that was because they wanted his name to sound cooler than it actually was, lol. 😂

Omg I HATED that whole "Dogtooth" era so much! Like how people still sometimes use localized names for Nekomamushi and Inuarashi - WHY??? 😂
@@lazarperic4525 It's always a balancing act when translating names that are also words. Is it more important to keep the phonetics in place, or is it more important to communicate the meaning which would be obvious in the original? Nine times out of ten, I don't think there is a "correct" answer, it's just a matter of judgement in the moment and then keeping consistent.

10:04 Luke Bege is just a mistranslation. It supposed to be "Rook Bege", because "Rook" and "Luke" has similar pronunciation and Katakana. On Previous Episode, Jinbe explained that Bege gained title of "Rook" from Big Mom as he served as her main guard.
12:46 That moment When Katakuri said "Know your place, Loser", is just him saying what Oven about to say. He comes out as Arrogant, but Katakuri keep his Observation Haki till the end is a good foreshadowing of him never letting his guard down, even when the battle seemingly over.
This is my favorite arc because it has the best scene in this anime as well as the best fight, and them are completely opposite, not with the same characters even.🙂↔️
&Also, Luffy vs Cracker was good too, an exquisite preamble, probably top 10 fights of the anime in top 1000 episodes! I liked it better than Luffy vs Luci to be honest.🤷♂️
