It was a good change to get rid of them though, faction already getting plenty of buffs, helps Insurgents not just become worse Militia, and it's not something we have really seen used by the real life inspirations for the faction.
I think the most overlooked change in this update is the militia LATs now having two HEAT rounds, I can see this small change being devastating for vehicle crews. Not to mention all the new AT grenades, rifle grenades, etc.
TBH I think they can be OP on AAS layers where they have vehicle parity now. Their infantry absolutely wrecks vehicles. The AT grenades also completely change the dynamic of getting inside arming distance with light vics like BTRS. Overall, I like the changes but some of the layers need a vehicle balance pass.
you can kill some parked IFVs with only 4 AT grenades, and light vehicles like logis with only 2-3. One militia kit can just run around behind enemy lines and force vehicles back to main with hull damage. All without arming distance
Wild how the militia has been growing and changing so much. I think this update is really going to push the militia into an even playing field with many big factions
it could be done probably easier now. you just act like the tunnel is a pie and send a barrage of fire from an angle that best suits you, as you fire you build another firing position that's creating a greater angle into the tunnel, essentially slicing the pie. Repeat the process until you have full sight of the tunnel and setup two or three points of fire, so you can have constant firing into the tunnel. haven't played for a minute, so I don't know if the layout of the maps have changed. 🙌
I totally love Squad and there's no other game like this so I just hope Devs will never ruin it and will always be in the right path. Thank you Devs you are all awesome.
Already had some good gameplay with my Breeki Bois. Honestly- love the update as stated in previous videos. Always loved the faction- now I am devoted to it even more deeply with the new take on them. My only gripe: I miss the old flag. :(
Invasion layers as or against IMF is pure chaos, theres just so many explosives you can just wildly fire into an enemies direction. Last night I played an invasion layer where we had the grad rockets, the smaller toyota rockets (idk the name), both cannons, both mortars, every squad had the rpg-7 grenadiers, the ambushers with rifle grenades, and lat kits only firing frag rockets. Absolutely insane
IMF were always my favourite faction, i love insurgents but I absolutely hate desert maps, the sense of having to be more resourcful and creative always appealed to me, all the new additions to IMF are really awesome.
Now Russia takes the top spot for most bland faction in the game. Hopefully they get some new additions eventually too AK-12s and BMP-3s wouldn't be out of place in the game at all

for years Militia was pretty much the most neglected and worst faction, pretty much labeled as "Insurgents without the fun stuff" or "Russians without the good stuff" (like Russians having scoped LMGs/HMGs/GPMGs, Insurgents having stuff like black humvees or hell cannons, etc.), and the entire community kept making posts in the sub reddit about ideas and suggestions (also if Squad actually had jets and attack helicopters like in Project Reality, we could probably add the MiG-17, MiG-19, maybe the MiG-21, or atleast some modified trainer jet) but now about time they can FINALLY stand out from Insurgents and Russians OWI was certainly over due (probably too busy fantasizing or day dreaming about what other emotes they could monetize even though emotes were free in PR), but better late than never

Now will they add scoped gpmg for Canada and British is the real question. Also, I kinda wanted them to add cheap holosun sights to the non conventual factions but it’s whatever ig. Really excited to try out the 76mm, I see it as able to pen any ifv and maybe some tanks depending on if the side is shown, modern tanks do not have a lot of side hull protection
All of these changes make the militia more capable in ambushes and defense. Getting 3 timed explosives is worth losing the IED, that’s enough to disable a HAB and destroy their radio without having to get a shovel out or cell phone out. It’s a small thing but it’ll help when you’re by yourself with a dozen enemies nearby
I don't know, i think they are much better defending then ambush. Building these things requires fob, logi and time. People building fobs never realizes 1 man in a camo net equals to at least 5 enemy .
Really hoping the command assets get changed for the regular forces, arty is fine, but the airstrikes, even when getting direct hits on targets, don't damage HABs, don't even try if there are trees, so, I propose, that they introduce guided artillery shells, a single Excalibur (or equivalent munition), on a 15 min wait, cut the buildables and vehicle damage of the air strikes, up the frag radius, and cut the time to 10 minutes, to make them less useful at destroying heavier armour like MBTs while still effecting less armoured AFVs like BMPs or Bradleys, making them more effective against infantry, so say you have infantry attacking a point, you don't have to use an arty on them, you have more options. Also, give the irregular factions smoke arty, creeping and static on 20 minute delay, to promote advancing or retreating on/from fortified/entrenched enemies.
Why do we dump the empty mags now, wasn't it part of squad to store the empty mags to replenish them with bullets at ammo crates. I don't like it personally.

you would just get anti-infantry mines. The Soviets have the "infamous" PFM-1, AKA the Butterfly Mine. You could probably get a dozen for under a grand
Eh i feel like the faction shouldn't have M4's, It really takes away the Baron Russian Militia feel to me when you're wielding an all American classic, I could understand an M16a1 Or a2 But I just wish they had nothing but Ak's and Fals. I guess for some people it just gets boring though. I also think there should be more Iron Sighted AK74 classes.

squad is getting closer and closer to real life. There are some missing vehicles and guns but that's ok. 90 percent of military stuffs are put in the game.

To be fair IED drones shouldn’t be a thing. There’s a weight limit to what drones can carry and one IED is probably 30 pounds of ordinance
